Male Shep is the definitive Shepard. Doesn't help that the default face for femshep in ME3 is seriously weird looking, she has this creepy smile plastered onto her face, while male Shep benefits from the dashing good looks of Mark Vanderloo.

I like what both Broshep and Femshep bring to the games.
I prefer Fem Shepard mostly because I am Bias to Jennifer Hale. though Mark meer isnt not bad at all. I mean how many other characters in Space/ futuristic games have more emotions then *tough guy* in the current Generation? I can think of Isaac Clarke and maybe the dude in Alien breed(but even then thats a stretch)

Male Shepard is definitely superior to femshep just for the fact that the game is obviously built around him and we don't end up with awkward scenes like this due to her being something that's just tacked on to his game.



In retrospect they should have never bothered with creating this gimmick and used the free space saved from not having to do the same copy and pasted sheploo dialogue for other content.

Most people designed their own Sheps, this doesn't prove your point

Troll? I'll bite.

It's hard to say that she's "just tacked on" when they make a trailer for her and about 1/4 or 1/3 of players play as her. I won't deny that Mass Effect as a series is marketed around a male Shepard, but that doesn't mean femShep is just "tacked on".

I really like both but I think where Jennifer hale was amazing from ME1, Meer was kind of lacklustre in the beginning and got better and better over the 3 games.

Male Shepard is canon, he's been on all the cover art and if they make a mass effect movie it will be with male shepard, also male shepard is cooler and more manly than female shepard AND male shepard have bigger muscles than femshep

Played ME1 as a guy. Played ME2 as a guy.

Both times tried it as a female, it didn't seem right. Even though I often play female characters in stuff like DA.

While going to sweep up some ME1 achievements years later I did female Shepard. Took her through 2 also.

I started ME3 with male Shepard but I can't wait to do it again with Femshep soon. Honestly i think Hale is probably slightly better but my "main" has always been broshep.

I prefer male Shepard for Renegade playthoughs and Femshep for Paragon playthoughs.  I'm not sure why, maybe because Mark Meer comes across as a freaking Bond villian when he's doing the evil dialog.
