Also male shepard is a manly man that can have manly relationships with The Garrus, The Kaidan, The Cortez and the manly man called Vega

This is the one thing that bothers me about playing femshep and the only thing.

The squadmate interaction does seem more tailored towards the male Shepard if that makes sense.  The relationships with Garrus and Jacob, non romance, are very "bro" relationships.

Where as the relationships with Tali and Miranda, are not really sisterly relationships.

For instance, Tali and Miranda just stop having anything to say to femshep in ME2 at the point the romance would kick in for maleshep.

Eh, works the same way for Garrus and Thane in ME2 for ManShep.
Tali at least has some sisterly dialogue here and there.

As for Garrus in ME3 if not romanced, women are allowed to have male buddies you know.

Sorry Hale nerds, but this guy has got the right idea. FemShep sucks compared to the real Shepard.

Thats because maleshepard is better and more likeable which makes the crew want to talk to him more, no one likes femshepard

Male Shepard is definitely superior to femshep just for the fact that the game is obviously built around him and we don't end up with awkward scenes like this due to her being something that's just tacked on to his game.

In retrospect they should have never bothered with creating this gimmick and used the free space saved from not having to do the same copy and pasted sheploo dialogue for other content.

Troll? I'll bite.

It's hard to say that she's "just tacked on" when they make a trailer for her and about 1/4 or 1/3 of players play as her. I won't deny that Mass Effect as a series is marketed around a male Shepard, but that doesn't mean femShep is just "tacked on".

Ah, "different opinion = troll". Well done sport.

The "femshep trailer" and the polling for it beforehand was just a marketting ploy by EAware that took advantage of the rabid entitled femshep fanboys.

Denying that femshep isn't "tacked on" isn't doing you any good.  There isn't a lick of difference between Sheploo and femshep beyond cosmetics and crappy romances. Speaking of the latter. ME3 Jacob or Thanemances anyone? Such a GREAT difference between femshep's romances with them in that game and regular Sheploo dialogue,no ?

Heh, the fact that you have to resort to insults and nonsensical phrases like "real Shepard" shows your insecurity.
But by all means continue trying to reassure yourselves of something that shouldn't need any.

I prefer Maleshep. Can't immerse myself in the game playing a femshep, and I like Maleshep's VA regardless of everyone thinking he sucks.

I can understand a girl playing femshep (immersion), though I can't understand the reasoning behind guys playing a femshep (and yes, I know "better VA"...other reasons?).

You want a different opinion? Fine. Male Shepard is tacked on. Problem?

This is why I can't play femshep, but I still think Hale is a better VO then Meer.

My Shepard is a guy, basically because he's meant to be me. Played the male shep through all three games.

That said, Femshep > Male Shep.

Love them both. I always play both male and female shepard. You just gotta love Jennifer Hale's voice =)
Though im afraid that my poor femshep isn't going to see much action in ME3. I did my first playthrough with my male Shepard already and I just can't bring myself to do a second run :(

Easy solution

Space magic gives everyone a thresher maw in her pants

GENDER EQUALITY (cept all thresher maws get extinction treatment now)

Though I have to say I gravitate more towards femshep mainly because with all the images I see of the default shepard goofing around the galaxy I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to just be a colossal arse to everyone while cheating on anything that moves

I started Mass Effect with the default ShepLoo simply because I wanted to jump into the game right away. His face and VO just stuck with me through out all three games; I can't see any alternative as "My Shepard".

That's not to say that Jennifer Hale isn't a phenomenal VO for FemShep, but the only reason I'd play as FemShep is because BioWare won't make a bromance option for Garrus. :(

^Listen to Lee he speaks the truth! Boris Relhinger beats Meer hands down for sexiest manly voice.

Male Shep is the definitive Shepard. Doesn't help that the default face for femshep in ME3 is seriously weird looking, she has this creepy smile plastered onto her face, while male Shep benefits from the dashing good looks of Mark Vanderloo.

Dashing good looks of vanderloo......:unsure::? There is no definative Shepard!(Marketing not included.)

Okay everyone here is the awnser:
Mshep and Fshep are secretly first cousins!( Who are banging eachother on the comroom floor.)

Shows my insecurity? I don't think so. It was actually a playful remark recognizing the heated rivalry between the two sides(as was Hale nerds). I've played more than 1 playthrough of Mass Effect 1 with femshep. You can also draw from that those playthroughs weren't continued into Mass Effect 2.

The bottom line is (imho at least) the experience is far lessened by playing as FemShep. Don't insult me by saying that I don't play female characters on video games. In fact, at one point, 80% of my level capped characters in World of Warcraft were female. So to say that I'm singling out FemShep simply because she's female is absurd.

I'm sure Hale's great and all but Mark Meer's voice is absolutely incredibly heroic. Don't take yourselves too seriously, it's still a video game character.

EDIT: Just wanted to add despite what everyone says about Mark, Hale's voice makes me cringe. Guess its the tone.

Yeah, I have no idea what you're talking about. Tali and Femshep have a pretty "bff" vibe on Rannoch.

I tried both MeerShep and HaleShep when I first started playing ME2, and I ended up forgetting about HaleShep.

Jennifer Hale may be a great voice actress, but her lines just don't click with in in ME. Hale may put more emotion into her lines than Meer, but I actually found that detrimental to her portrayal. Her lines always seemed disconnected from the rest of the charcters, like everybody else was perceiving events differently.

As for Meer, I felt his less emtional portrayal actually suited the carrer-soldier Shepard I wanted to build much better. I only wish he had more dialoge options for deadpan snark.
