I love Angry Joe.
I've seen all his ME3 coverage, and he manages to hit the nail dead straight on the head, at least how I feel about it.

Also, I believed whole-heartedly that the IT would be true, but yeah, giving Bioware too much credit is right :(

I think what most people hate about the ending are these key points:

1) Shepard is told Ghostchild's choices, and yet there simply isn't a "No" option.

2) Space Magic destroying Mass Relays... not good due to codex entry + Arrival DLC. Best decision is to remove that bit of cutscene; easy fix.

3) Remove joker cutscene; remake it in a way that it fits Joker's personality and explains how crew made it back to ship.

I believe that sums it up right there. That right there = happy fan base with very little changes.

Well he nails it, a good ending would never have needed "clarification" nor would the fans need "closure" they would all be playing the game again and again and be waiting like rabid dogs for some good DLC so they could enjoy the game further. As it stands now this has a big chance of blowing up in their faces , EA alrdy got the prize for worst company in the US due to this, it is arguably silly but still the fans have spoken.

They can go on and on about artistic vision and what not, still does not make it right sure they can keep it just do not expect fans to, atleast in my opinion, to ever look at their products again until they have been tested and aproved by others then perhaps ill crab it out of the "Used" games bin or on a steam bargain. I will not jump into promises again and order a CE 7 or 8 months before release, I simply will not , so this is the last chance so to speak for them to get the stuff right BW

I agree with him on everything except the IT bit. I never bought into that myself. But he nailed my initial reaction to seeing the annoucement perfectly

How do you feel about IT being added to tie the ending into something cohearent? if Bioware for some reason decides to go with it.

Compared to an expanded ending based on the poo poo that we currently have.

saw it, he speaks for the community... that's one thing I like about him.

He speaks for the lunatic fringe of the community who wants to bury this DLC before we really know anything substantial about it.

We DO know they gave us one of the most non-sensical reviled endings of the decade.  We DO know they blatantly lied to us at least a dozen times on the material of this game.

And you would presume to say that the "lunatic fringe" is wrong to question or be cynical?  Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  Guess what your doing.

There's nothing wrong with questioning the DLC or being skeptical. There is something wrong with completely dismissing the DLC before we truly know anything about it.

You and all of your "OMG BIOWARE THE DEVIL" buddies are being petulant children. We got ending DLC, and you still complain about it.

ffs

Sure, they also promised us 16 endings, no space magic, no A, B, or C ending, etc. etc.  Didn't happen now did it? And you still want to give them the benefit of the doubt?  Their credibility is shot, and everyone has every right to question everything they promise.  Its good that its free, and who knows, maybe I'll like it.  But given their track record.

And btw, name calling is rude.

I do not agree with joe. I usually do, but he's not showing his usual impartial criticism that he usually shows.

He's basically just jumped on the pessimistic band wagon that I've become sick and tired of. No one can dismiss what the dlc will do, because they don't know jack didly about what the new content actually is. We can't celebrate this as a complete victory yet but at least wait until some actual evidence come out before you crucify them.

When the "pessimistic band wagon" happens to be the truth, you can't really avoid appearing to jump on it.

But you have no proof to back up your claim of "it's the truth", you decided they were wrong before they ever said anything, and now you just interpret everything they say as being wrong.

Fans complained about lack of clousure, no epilouges, not seeing war assets comming into effect at the last mission, and the lack of differenciation in the ending. Bioware says they're going to try and fix this and fans attack them for not removing the starchild and keeping the ending choices and colors.

Fans aren't thinking rationally and probably never will for a long time. Hysteria, tramatization, and a general decision that bioware will never fix the mistakes they made have turned you guys into a group of pessimist who can't understand the concept of bioware doing something good for their fans.

This may feel a little disjointed because it's a reply I made to similar question in another thread.

Do you even understand what narrative cohesion is?  Throughout the Mass Effect series, Shepard has overcome overwhelming odds, kept fighting in the face of utter defeat and never surrendered.  And then... in the last 10 minutes, Starbaby tells Shepard "the created will always turn on their creators" and Shepard just goes along with that?  Even though she knows the Geth's history, helped EDI with her existential crisis, Shepard just suddenly derps it up?

And when presented with the three idiotic options, she just accepts that there's no other way?  What happened to the "Fight or die!" that ME3 started with?  Did Shepard suddenly just go braindead and some puppetmaster took over her body and mind?  Because MY SHEPARD would never accept that.  BioWare's Shepard, regardless of how you played through, is a fighter, not a quitter.  BIOWARE'S SHEPARD! would not just herp the derp and accept what Starbaby says without arguing and demanding answers.

Can we at least wait until we play it before we pass judgement?

So we should wait until it's finished and completely irredeemable? And if it turns out to not be what want like we fear right now, what can we do after that? If Bioware gets it wrong, I want it to because they didn't listen not because I didn't say anything.

Hard to take anyone seriously who whines about the extended cut before he's ever seen it.

And some people wonder why gamers are labeled entitled, BW caves inn to all the whining, extends the ending and gives it to you for free and what is the first reaction people have? whine about itnot being good enough months before anyone has even seen it

Don't forget about the-F-to-the-ING Normandy.

If they don't fix that, they deserve what they get.

I believe they don't yet know exactly what they're going to do.

So keep suggesting what you think you absolutely have to see changed, because there's still a chance that you just might get it.

Not always the biggest fan of angry joe...but he and I are pretty much in complete agreement on everything Mass Effect related it seems.....including our reaction to this situation.
I'll wait to judge...but I almost feel like if they're not willing to drop the starchild and everything surrounding him I'd actually prefer to stick with "lot's of speculation" and assume that Shepard woke up moments later and did what he was born to do.

Fans we like the original ending can chose or not to downloaded...anyway I don't know if i'm going to download the extended cut...

And Tali and Garrus will starve on a Levo-Amino Acid based world.

But all of that can be "clarified". What can't be easily "clarified" is why the Normandy is rocketting off before Shepard's body is even cold.

One minute it's "Do or Die" the next it's "Fall back!".

Or why the Space Magic damages the Normandy, which is not synthetic.  Also, notice that the Reapers, with Destroy, don't take physical damage from the blast.  They just fall over.  But the Normandy gets knocked around and ripped apart.
