Jory (you remember him!) had child on the way in Ostagar. That baby would have been born and, depending on when DA3 starts, may now be old enough to know what happened to Dad. Is he bitter? Will he ever show up again? Sometimes, I wonder about stuff like that.

I want DA3's protagonist to be Jory's son.

Make it happen Bioware.

DA3 is probably going to take place shortly after the events of DA2. It's supposedly going to be all about the now continent wide Mage v. Templar war that started in Kirkwall. Like Morrigan's baby, Jory's kid is too young to have a meaningful participation in the plot. Ask again in Dragon Age 7.

The DA3 party will consist of the kids of various NPCs (OGB, Jory's child etc). Kinda like Rugrats in Thedas.

Well, since his wife was still preggers and they don't have ultrasound in Thedas, there's no way he could know the sex of the baby.

And since she was in Highever, she might have been killed when Howe's soldiers attacked.

Why not meteorite child then? Makes more sense.

And the Wardens don't necessarily say "They failed the Joining", so the child wouldn't be bitter at nothing he doesn't know about.

Haha...this cracked me up  But good one OP..I hope there's more stuff that's reminiscent of Origins in DA3. I liked that in the ME series but would like to see it amped up a bit more..

Genetic heritability would make it likely the protagonist would be ugly as well as stupid. No thanks.

I want the protagonist to be related to Hawke and my Warden because in my game Hawke and the Warden are related and I want it to be a family thing.

Well who exactly would Jory's son be seeking revenge on? Because... the main people that did that to Jory are... kinda dead.

Duncan isn't dead, he's just hiding.

But yeah, even if the kid did know that Jory was killed rather than failed the joining, unless DA3 starts a significant number of years after DA2 Jory's child (assuming his wife isn't somehow killed in Highever) would be 10 or 11. That roaring rampage of revenge against the Wardens is going to go well.

The DA3 party will consist of the kids of various NPCs (OGB, Jory's child etc). Kinda like Rugrats in Thedas.

Mages: OGB, Connor.
Warriors: Bevin and his Sword of Truthiness. Lia, the kidnapped elf from DA2.
Rogues: Amethyne, daughter of Iona from the Human Noble Origin. That red-headed orphan kid from Lothering.

Jory's kid would probably be too young to be in the main party, so he'll be the plucky comic relief (replacing Dog). Dagna from Orzammar, being older than the rest, will fill in for Wynne as the old mentor figure.

Jory died just some hours before the battle started. Chances are his kid thinks his father died a hero.

Now I have an image in my head of Tommy from Rugrats wielding a broadsword and laying waste to the monster in his closet, which just so happens to be a darkspawn.

Human mage origin is an Amell. So if your warden was an Amell, Hawke is your cousin.

Off topic...

You want to talk about missed opportunites, that was a missed opportunity. I think it might come up once, in a conversation with Cullen? Either way, it could have made a much bigger splash, RE your standing in Kirkwall, than it did.

I think Connor would actually be old enough. Isn't the conclusion of DAII roughly nine or ten years after the events of DAO? By my guestimation that would put Connor in his late teens-early twenties. And I, for one, would like to see if there is any consequences from his time spent as an abomination.

Although, since you technically have the option to kill him, it might not be feasible.

No and if you interpreted that as being insestual, you're just imature.

The soldiers attacked a castle, not a town. Highever would be more than one castle. There's usually a castle sitting on the outskirts of the town.

You wouldn't be able to justify yourself if you slaughtered an entire town >.>.

Anyway, Jory's kid was mentioned in passing, I doubt it would have any point or meaning on the actual story Bioware wants to tell. Not everyone grows up to be a hero, most people just grow up, study, learn, work etc.

Yeah, chances are pretty slim that the kid would find out what happened, considering no one but the Warden/Alistair knows and the GW policies on the matter are pretty strict.

I was being facetious, but I guess the lack of emoticons contributed to my failure of conveying that.

No more cheap throwbacks.
