I'd say no, because voice acting cost a lot, not just the actor to do it, but the equipment rent.
So the consequence that you get simplified dialogue options due to the need of having this VA service.
I prefer a large option of dialogues where I can carefully craft my character personality, be the warden or anyone else.

Voice = better. And the warden had one. Just not outside combat...

That was ideal. To me, we can have an idea of how they sound without intrusions.

Save the ladder comment. Dear god I modded that out as soon as I could.

I recently fired up a new game of Origins and I have to admit, having a silent protagonist really feels like something is missing now.

For all of DA2's faults, I find their voice-acting overall to be... very good. Admittedly, the sarcastic responses were the most fun... but they were fun! And hey, actual conversations taking place.

Honestly, I could not go back to the silent treatment again. Maybe if Bioware had butchered the voice-acting, but they didn't - it's clearly one of their stong suits. And given they're talking about offering different voice options for the Warden, I gotta think they'll come up with at least one that'll work well enough.

I wouldn't care either way. Voice or no voice really isn't big to me I like both granted the voice work is quality.

No, no, no, no, no.

If they're going to continue with the voiced PC route I say just leave the Warden be. No voice and no cameo.

Voicing the Warden in the same manner as Hawke AND giving us a choice in voices would be EXTREMELY expensive. I'm not opposed to it, but I have to wonder if the cost is worth the payoff, especially when the payoff itself is in question.

Having said that, there are numerous plot devices one could use to justify the warden not saying anything at all. Perhaps something renders the Warden mute, or perhaps in light of the horrors of the blight, the Warden chooses not to speak, perhaps the Warden CAN speak but circumstance prevents us from ever being able to hear them.

And for some reason, I have an image in my head of Hawke and The Warden encountering the protagonist of DA3 and pulling a Jay and Silent Bob routine.

Seeing the Warden and Hawke pulling a Jay and Silent Bob routine if done right would be funny to watch.
