NO! IT CAN'T BE LIKE THAT! WE HAVE TO RAGE--FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

You're not going to convince the lunatic fringe that this DLC could work with the current ending we have. I never thought we needed a complete rewrite for them to salvage the ending.

Uh... I'm part of this so called "lunatic fringe" who do not like the DLC. Just because you are happy with what you have been offered doesn't mean that every single person has to agree with you. I think many people who dislike the expanded ending dlc are being quite reasonable about it. There are many valid arguements on our side so I would advise you to do some research into our views before calling us lunatics.

I'm sick of posting this in every thread, but here it goes again.

I'm not saying you can't be skeptical of the endings or ask questions. People have every right to those things, but all of these people completely dismissing the ending DLC before we truly know anything about it (with all the rage and craziness) are the "lunatic fringe."

I don't need to do research because I was involved with the Retake movement. Before the DLC announcement, there were some people being ridiculous, but a big part of it was great. After the annoucement, people (not everyone, but they're not who I'm adressing) are Hulk smashing and acting like lunatics.

And still better than what we got. Why is it that almost anyone can write a better ending than Bioware?

This is exactly what I've been talking about elsewhere. They can do this, and they will not have 'changed' the ending. It's just clarification. If Bioware is still listening, like they claim they are, this would work. This would solve the problem and still let you keep your three endings. It works with everything we know, it relies on your choices, and it allows the player the freedom to utterly reject starkid's conclusions.

Hell, I'd probably pick this for a headcannon even if they don't end up doing this. Ever since I watched the endings, the paragon options there are what I've wanted to say.

Ideas like this are why I have hope for the extended cut DLC. Something like this would be cool. Perhaps the ending cinematic would be different on past choices throughout the game as well.

This...would be...

A step in the right direction despite keeping the stupid starchild scene (and taking it at face value, as opposed to an indoc theory retcon). It's not complete, and it still doesn't change the fact that everyone dies in relay explosions, so I can't call it satisfactory, but it's definitely a good step forward.

And I don't have much confidence right now that Bioware will actually come out with anything as remotely as good.

Please prove me wrong, Bioware.

Being able to tell the starchild to take his terrible logic and presumption of superiority and shove it... would be nice.

Which, of course, is why they've explicitly ruled it out.

Never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

What if they did this and showed a cutscene where people rather explicitly DON'T die in the relay explosions?  That's just more clarification, and can easily be accomplished.  I think this CAN work, but it relies heavily on Bioware getting it right this time.  Cause one thing's for sure.  If they don't do it this time, there won't be a fanbase left to appease afterwards.

You know what? That was actually pretty good. I don't even for a second think they'll go that far, but you have something nice cooking there. And that's coming from someone who like the endings, flawed as they are.

And yes, at the very least they'll put a stop to this "relays explode, everyone dies" nonsense. It's silly and has to stop, really.

Thing about that is, they could shut down the "relays explode, everyone dies" with one simple "oh, the energy was directed and controlled by an internal failsafe function in the catalyst *technobabble*" and it would be done.  They're just letting this burn at this point, and I don't quite get it.  :?

Good post OP. It works, would satisfy me...(assuming there is better epilogue w/ cutscenes and no stupid Normandy crash). I think they're going to do something else though. Idk, I'm hoping it won't be horrid but we'll see.

Someone posted to links to on another tread to twitter posts from Jessica and or Ray that "no one starves to death" and that the relays can be quickly rebuilt from the reaper technology lying around depending on game-play choices. I guess that also means the relays don't also kill everyone right off the bat too.

So if the extended cut is going to show that... then it could also show Shepard calling starchild out on its bulls**t. One can hope.

Hmm. I missed the part where he still chooses red.

This might actually work, but it still smacks a bit of Indoc Theory- seeming to say that Red is better than Blue/Green. Not that I have any problem with that, because it is, but I don't see how similar "extended cuts" would work for Blue/Green as well.

Well, a similar ending could be done for control.  Each ending could have a "scene" where Shep essentially makes the arguement for it.  Control would be Shep bringing himself to the point of "sacrifices and compromises have to be made" and "the difference between me and TIM was in our methods, not our beliefs" and "I will succeed where he failed".

Green?  I don't know.  Starkid WANTED you to go green, so I don't think any justification is needed, but I suppose it could be done.

Hmmm, this is actually REALLY good.

Between this and tweets about starvation and relay rebuilding, i'm becoming more optimistic about this dlc...

Yeah, but he didn't mind you going blue, either.

Hell, he really didn't care if you went red. We as fans have kinda built up the idea that he didn't like the red ending.

Really, it's just he couldn't give a **** one way or the other. (Or the other.) He simply doesn't care what you do. And yet we just take his word for it. That's what infuriates me the most.

It was quite bone-chilling, I must admit. I loved it. Thank you for giving me hope that Bioware can further improve upon its ending. This... This would be quite close to perfection.
