It's true, I heard a rumour that all developers are locked in separate rooms without windows or internet access.....well, that's the only logical explanation I can come up with.

I agree, It really is the only logical way that can be possible.  *sigh*Image IPB

Bioware, we continue to be not dumb. We told you what we wanted to see in ME3 after ME2.

They were to busy....listening to fans and crafting their art.

Yeah, that shocked me too. There were comments about how the ending was "controversial" that came out, I believe, shortly after the release.

The problem is two-fold. If they're telling the truth, then whoever is in charge of quality control is guilty of malfeasance. If they're lying, it's even worse. I'm not sure which is worse?

They knew exactly what they wanted because that's what they pretended the ending was in pre-release interviews. It's disgusting that they lied about what we were going to get and are now feigning ignorance.

Lol, because only a minor subset of uber-fans would be interested in finally getting to meet a species that the entire series has partially revolved around. Not to mention the insight into the universe which the character of said species gives the player.

I wouldn't have thought anyone would have been interested in that either.

there are quite a number of vocal majority that liked the ending.

Sorry, but that side of the fence became a MINORITY weeks ago.

LOL, it's not even about the endings any more. It's about their arrogant attitude to the fans.

They took for granted that we would like anything that came from them.

They believed that it was okay to over promise and not follow through.

They let EA create a massive marketing campaign that said they were geniuses of the industry and then they believed it.

They forgot that the fans that made them great, but that the fans only judge you by your latest work.

I think they were kidding when they said that. I have a feeling that was a troll.

No forward thinking PR person would say that and believe it.

Seems like a fairly indefensible remark. If the lead for ME3 didn't know that people would actually want to know about the results of the final decision of the franchise after the ME series has been out there for 5 years, they really had no business being the lead in the first place.

the panel lied, either intentionally or unintentually.   These quotes are from casey hudson's interviews.

"Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to build the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about eventually tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot more different. At this point we’re taking into account so many decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C.

It’s more like there are some really obvious things that are different and then lots and lots of smaller things, lots of things about who lives and who dies, civilizations that rose and fell, all the way down to individual characters. That becomes the state of where you left your galaxy. The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them. It would be interesting to see if somebody could put together a chart for that. Even with Mass Effect 2’s..."

“There is a huge set of consequences that start stacking up as you approach the end-game. And
even in terms of the ending itself, it continues to break down to
some very large decisions. So it's not like a classic game ending
where everything is linear and you make a choice between a few things
- it really does layer in many, many different choices, up to the
final moments, where it's going to be different for everyone who
plays it.”

Yes, that's why they touted those exact things in the pre-launch build-up... because they didn't know people wanted it.

When I think about this more, I think that Bioware is stuck between two options. They can either admit that they were lying, which would make them look really bad, or they could feign ignorence which would make them look like idiots. They chose the latter apparantly....

Nah, I got the scene in my head, after the venue he walks out kicking himself muttering "I can't believe I said that"; and one of the others swiping him across the head "way to go numbskull"

"When asked why that content wasn't included in the game at launch, the dev team stood by the release in the core product."We're very proud of it," they said.  "It was important though, for us to listen to the community, and community feedback obviously didn't come until the game came out.  We couldn't have included it in the game because we didn't know there was a huge demand for it."

I dont really now how to respond to that.. No I do. Thats the stupidist ****ing thing I have ever heard. Its an outright lie. They knew what we wanted. They promised us indepth endings.....for ****s sake

You know even if Bioware pulls of an awesome DLC that saves the end game...I think I won't touch their products for a long time just because their heads are so far up their asses their sphincter is choking them out.

How ... could they pretend to "not know" there would be a demand for something they've been promising for years? Did they think we wouldn't notice? Did they -really think- we wouldn't care?

... Problematic.
