I understand that magic score replaces strength when determining ability to wear armor and the damage dealt with melee.

What I am unsure of is whether or not the little strength we do have and get from armor actually does anything. Does it still contribute to attack and damage? Or does it get replaced completely as a damage stack and get ignored?

I ask this because some armors have strength bonuses and I was curious as to if it does anything. So much is obscured with regards to certain abilities and stats. Thanks in advance for any information anyone is willing to share.

Strength is utterly useless for an Arcane Warrior to put it simply because you use Combat Magic which completely negates it, making magic the attribute that determines combat damage. When Combat Magic is off then strength becomes the determining attribute, though you kind of defeat the point of being an Arcane Warrior then. :P

Alright thanks. I'm not much of a min-maxer, but I don't like too much waste.

The tricky thing is however, that attack seems to me to be very important to even hit anything (though dexterity does this too). Something that I'm not sure the magic score does.

Combat Magic effectively makes Magic=Strength if I remember correctly. Just not really worth it to invest as the impact would be minimal, get your dex up to 25-30 by end game and you should be hitting everything just fine.

just ignore both str and dex, since u get eneugh random upgrades in the game to your stats as well as good enhancing gear/spells that it should't be much of a problem. max out the entire AW tree as well as Arcane shield and Rock armor to make hitting u a hard thing to do. do pump your constitution though, since against most bosses u better rely on a warrior to take the most hits and it comes in handy if u decide to take on Blood mage as your 2nd class. both work great together :)

and do check out the link tyrax Lightning posted, u'll find anything else there.

good luck :)
