True if you were still viewing Mass Effect as a RPG. Since ME2, I have viewed the ME series as more in the vein of games like Uncharted rather than The Witcher 2 or KOTOR. This is probably why I was extrememly satisified with 99% of Mass Effect as while the C&C (which some people focused on) didn't deliver while I found the emotional story payoff to be great until the end.
Just my opinion...

-Linear corridor shooter
-Only 2 guns are needed for the whole game, salarian pistol and sniper rifle, everything else is useless in comparison.
-Phoned in level system that doesn't create a single hard choice, it's all "Do you want to play offensively or defensively?" and just pick that path.
-Weapon mod system that's as phoned in as the level system. Mod for damage, there's no reason to mod for anything else. Not that there's really any other option but modding for damage in the first place.
-fetch quests.
-Timed fetch quests. Not only are they timed, but they're intentionally designed to make you fail (See Barla Vonn and Tchunka) to force you into Multiplayer.
-Forced multiplayer if you want the best ending, for no reason other than to force Online Pass sales.
-Zooming around the solar systems making white circles, more representative of 90's era arcade games than anything else.
-The same plot point is used 3 times (Legion, Mordin, Thane)
-Overuse of "Stand here and shoot all of the waves until they're finished". usually with ultra-heroic music when you're not really doing anything all that ultra-heroic.
-The few side-quests that aren't fetch quests are almost all "Kill waves, move, push button, rinse, repeat".
-Autodialogue everywhere.
-Decisions are ignored, sometimes outright ignored, and other times just putting a different character in to do the exact same thing.
-You trip over a thermal clip every 2ft. The only way you can run out of ammo is if you literally try to run out of ammo.
I can keep going if you want?

Auto-dialogue, what they did to Jacob. Did I say Auto-dialogue?
More bugs than ME1 (MASS EFFECT 1!!!!!!!!!).

To OP, this is news how? Everyone knows that EA sh*** on studios all the time and could care less about good reputation and/or quality.
how does ea have anything to do with what both mac and casey did by greenlighting the ending?
lets be honest if the ending isnt what it was this backlash wouldnt even happen and you know it
2 guys on the bioware team made the call and ran with it
being dissapointed is one thing but conspriacey theories and lies make things alot worse

what were you expecting? land on worlds during a ww2 style reaper invasion?
i admit the fetch missions are kind of a sad waste but what else could they really do ?

A smaller amount of quests similar in length to Grissom Academy. Your choices during these missions would result in a substantial amount of TMS/EMS depending on your choices.

How do you know that BioWare wasn't forced to put those endings only to leave the universe open? Besides its perfectly convenient, Hudson and Walters put the endings out, everyone gets mad at them, EA gets away with it and Hudson and Walters get the blame. Isn't this what happened? I know people can make mistakes but I doubt that this was a simple mistake, both guys have worked on all three games, there is no way that they couldn't have foreseen that this would have happened.
