I'm not fast enough nor as a good shot as others so I'm usually last which can be disheartening when I know I've put in a good effort. I do try though.

Some people are just really, really competitive though and seem to get annoyed if they think they are carrying the team or one person in particular.

However, sometimes I have days where I play great, good, bad and stupid depending on all kinds of variables.

In my eyes you are the perfect player to team up with. Eventhough I can hold my own when I need to I like to relax and I value 'giving their best' over 'being the best'.
Nor have I ever kicked or tried to kick someone. (I been kicked enough though as a lvl 20 QE, even out of bronze games).

Good example is that yesterday I was in a really strong team and we did a couple of runs following eachother. 1 run stuff just didn't go as planned and we failed while the other runs were easy-peasy.

If nothing else it's because "carrying" other players might force you to use consumbles you might not have used otherwise. Those consumables are potentially representive of both time and even real world cash.

There are also times in the game when the enemy successfully traps you in or times when someone needs to go down by being the bait on purpose because the enemy is just trapping your group. Gold is when they really do that but it can happen on silver too

What's funny is that often the player with the top score is a 'try-hard' and dies more than everyone else combined. The other night we had a Soldier spamming Frag Grenades non-stop on Bronze. Of course he had the most kills and the highest score because he literally never even got 10 kills from any other source. My friend and I laughed because he was the only player to die in many games and would often push so far into the enemy spawn that it would relocate behind the rest of us. This 'elite' player had no idea how to play with a team and despite having the highest score we had to carry him through many situations. It should be noted that he was level 14+ while we were both level 1-12 during our games Yeah, sometimes players have a CoD-mentality where only score matters; this one certainly did.

It should also be noted that I often have the lowest score on Gold because I cover the 'weak' side. If I do my job the team benefits, if not we get flanked and chaos follows. Score does not mean much as long as everyone is doing their job or playing their role since we all share the rewards at the end.

It's more of the fact that if the person they are carrying was gone, they might get someone who can contribute.

If someone just goes totally AFK, yeah, but even so, real life can suddenly interfere.  If they're making an attempt to contribute, then I'm cool with them.

Usually, I'm the one getting carried, though, I'm at least trying though.  And I did land at the top of the list once, basically carrying everyone else (Commander Pinball Bomb, FTW).  Was I complaining about the rest of them not carrying their weight?

No.  We had fun.

I was on a mission with other people, they were complaining about carrying me...guys, I have speakers, I can hear you.  I admit that I'm not a great player, or even a really good one, but I TRY.  So the mission was not fun for me, I left.  I hope they had a hack mission on wave 10 silver.

because when someone is not helping in a effective way it can make maps take an additional 10 minutes which is basically costing you xp and credits in the long run, also you are more likely to need to use consumables

If people are against carrying others... then do some stupid PRIVATE TEAMS with your friends...

"ohhh this person dont have X weapon... or the rating is too low... ohhh it is a girl, girl's can't play"

Yeah I have been the recipient of all of that crap.

MP is to have fun, if people are OCD about it, then just do private matches with their close friends or forma guild or whatever, but don't go out acting like silly little gaming ****s.

I don't mind carrying others. I just hate it when they don't help me when I need it. Reviving is the situation that usually separates a douche from a teammate. A douche doesn't make any attempt to return the favor of reviving you, while a gracious teammate who I have revived, or carried, or have been carried by, will revive me.

This reminds me of one of my biggest pet peaves.  It annoys me so much sometimes that I actually kind of wish individual scoring didn't exist.  Teams that all face the same way and attack the same mobs (often mobs that are far away and not an immediate threat) while other approaches go unwatched (except by me).  Dagger is the worst when it comes to this.  Waves will spawn, and all three of my teammates will just be unooading out of the windows of the central hub, racing to get the most points as quickly as possible, oblivious to their surroundings, and, if I don't prevent it (probabably because I'm handling an attack from yet another direction they are ignoring), they get ganked by some measly assault troopers from the other side.  And all because they are in some all important point race.  It drives me crazy.

It really depends on your definition of carrying.
If someone is putting the effort in, and actually performing a useful task (Guarding our backs and such) then not only is their score irrelevant, but I feel they understand the game better than someone that just wants some big numbers next to their name.

On the other hand, if you're just selfishly trying to take a shortcut by burdening your teammates in a gold match when you KNOW you're not ready, I have no issue with voting to kick.

because you waste your fking consumables on them. they suck and bring sh*t characters/weapons into a game difficulty they shouldnt. they also lead to wipes, longer games, crappier overall experience.

It's not fun doing all the work.

When I want a team, I want people to contribute just as much as me.

Both in real life and in-game.

A team full of competent players means a smooth run, without frustration and you'll be done rather quickly.

If they're a team player and putting in effort toward a successful run, I don't really mind, especially if we completed the run successfully. What gets me is the glory hounds who makes no effort to cover your backs, who runs off and blocks spawns downrange, or keeps standing in front of your widow while spraying someone with an SMG, and that sort of thing. And obviously the AFKers too.

Like this one gold game the other night, we had That Vanguard with us (who played a perfectly competent, if low scoring, adept the previous game -- which I was perfectly happy with) that insisted on running up and spamming nova downrange of the snipers and pushing the enemies around the corner where we couldn't cover him, and then inevitably getting killed god-knows-where. And since he wasn't the host, he inevitably got bugged out and basically served as a 2-hit decoy from Wave 4 onwards. We managed to 3.1-man the rest of the waves, but that certainly got on my nerves : /

And this is why I don't like MP. Children trying to play with adults. Bah.

I don't mind carrying as long as we complete Wave 10 and get our credits.

terrible. I like a sal engineer that can actually use a weapon, since I get 100-110k every match with him (doing dps and defence) seems like a massive downgrade to have a decoy spamer in place of an infiltrator.

A good team, in theory, consists of people who both res you and watch your back but can also handle themselves. This almost never happens on randoms. The few I have met on random matches I usually add to my friend's list. I play mostly on Gold. The worse case scenario is people that see you carry them, then tell you have great you are so they can add you, so you can carry them some more. No thank you.

Personally, I don't care if someone's the illegitimate ass-baby of Rambo and John McClane, or a keystone cop, as long as they're actually making an effort of it and not being a complete moron, or getting the team killed in the process. 1st in score or 4th, as long as you're doing your job being a benefit to the team you're welcome IMO.

I only started playing a few days ago, but these numbers are self-explanatory.  The most popular class is soldier?

I've just played a Gold game and we got to Wave 9 before getting wiped out. I spent most of my time using Throw to trigger Biotic Explosions on the Stasis Bubbles and Singularities that my team mates were throwing around the map.
I got the medals for 50 Assists and 25 Biotic Kills yet my score was very low in comparison to the others - at least 40,000 behind the leader. Yet despite that, there's no way the team would have gotten to Wave 9 without me. Sorry if that sounds like bragging but it's true.
There is just simply no way you can use points as an indicator of who is a good player and who is not.

I enjoy the MP a lot, but the people who get their self-worth from it are the biggest draw-back.  Moreso than any unskilled player.

Depends on who I'm "carrying."

If it's someone who's obviously being more of a support role (IE setting up combos, watching the flanks for lone enemies) then I won't mind. However if it's someone who's just messing around, getting downed constantly from running at the enemies, or just flat out not playing, I'll be sure to put in as little of an effort as they are, just to spite them.

Because they are a liability to the team, and are hindering your acquisition of experience and credits by prolonging the amount of time the match lasts..

But i don't mind either if you can tell they are trying, and are smart despite being a noobie (i.e. will follow you to objectives and it is noticeable they are trying to help/cover you etc...)
I like seeing noobies in games.. it means that new people are joining, and that's always a good thing for the longevity of a game ^.^

On gold and such tho, i get a angry b/c they should have the decency to realize they don't belong there =P
