Hi All: I just started getting into this game (reading up) and I was wondering will we be able to be bad in this game or just good? I still making my characters for DA but can you start bad when playing the game the 1st time around. I like to make 1 or 2 bad characters for each race and class.
Making a bad character or this game only for good?

I'm betting the decisions in this game will be similar to mass effect, that is, more about HOW you accomplish the mission rather than bad/good. Your character is always fighting for "good" (he can't go off and join the darkspawn or anything) but he can be a complete **** while doing it. Or he can be a nice guy.
EDIT: Also, there is no morality slider like previous bioware games iirc.

You get to be bad. And more importantly, you get to be a jerk for no reason.

There are parts where your decision can lead to whole races being killed off. (It was something like wood elves and werewolves or something... Unless I'm remembering something that doesn't actually exist).

It seems Dao is centered on the origin stories and relations than just simplistic good or evil, i don´t know yet if i like that.

There are some very evil choices to make i am sure and good ones 2 and probably something in the middle.

There are tons of endings, and no morality meter, you have no reason to be nice if you don't want to be, being 'evil' doesn't mean you lose out on the abilities to be a certain specialization or something. The game is about choice, there's a lot of options.

I'm curious to see how the Blood Mage path plays out. Sure the Chantry aren't big fans and the magic path itself is rather unseemly, but hopefully it won't shoehorn me into a dark path. Can't I be a happy hero at the same time? Time will tell....

Does it really matter what the Chantry thinks though? They aren't 'good'.Ralsar wrote...

No. But somehow "Blood Magic" and the visual we saw in the trailer of a guy stabbing himself in the hand to summon monsters evokes imagery that isn't 'good.'
