I'll be playing it. I don't look forward to going through TIM's last kill-me-now-please-stop-talking speech again, but I'm pretty excited about this dlc. "Clarification" is such a broad term, and heck - even employee tweets about no one starving to death made me feel optimistic enough to start another play through.

So yeah, I'll be downloading and playing it, happy to do so.

@erixxxx Again very true. Plot wise there really isn't anything new out there. I'm also ok with the idea Shep's story is over. I fully expected her to die then for Bioware to react like Bethesda did in Fallout 3 if they wanted post-ending DLC. What I'm not ok with is if they try to use this as a launching point for an MMO. like I said in another thread, I was in vanilla WoW and beta'ed SWTOR. I ended up leaving both for slightly different reasons but they soured me on taking great story/ RPGs into the MMO format.

The only nice thing I can say if they domthismway is,at least the broke the mould set by KOTOR and delivered the third game as promised.

I doubt I'll still have my copy of ME3 come summer, I'll be trading it in pretty soon, not played it on about two weeks.

I'll more than likely just watch them on youtube.

It's free, so why not? If it's bad, I'm going to treat it as a very elaborate fanfiction.

Yes, if for no other reason than so I can pick it apart in detail.

Last time I went spoiler free I was rewarded with the Star Kid. I will not make the same mistake again.

Maybe they planned to release an MMO before this debacle, but now (and SWTOR is also not doing so well) i doubt it. We all know how expensive MMOs are and the Mass Effect franchise is not as well-known as Star Wars, although it is much more appealing in my opinion. Right now the franchise is heavily damaged and i wouldn't even count on a single player sequel, but perheps I'm wrong, we'll see.

RE: OP
I will wait for the reviews. The current ending really hurt me. If the DLC manages to change the ending to something positive, fine. But right now I simply cannot trust Bioware anymore. There were to many lies and broken promises in the past and confidence has to get earned again.

I'll get it because it's free. If they somehow manage to make our decisions relevant and eliminate all the plotholes with a few minutes of cutscenes, I will play Mass Effect again. But odds are ME3 is going to get buried at the bottom of my stack of games after this.

I've determined I will not let the monumentally disappointing ending of the series ruin the entire series, for me. I've restarted Mass Effect this week, with a fresh, new Shepard.

The DLC is free, so I'll try it. The ending will never be just what I wanted, but maybe the most glaring plot holes and WTF-moments can be fixed. If not, I'm simply back to imagining how I'd have wrapped up the series.

This isn't the way I'd hoped my ME journey would end, but I'm going to try to salvage it, because I love the setting so much.

:crying: For some reason I thought about it and it hit me: to experience the new "extended" ending I woul have to replay the entire last mission including the god-child part. Normally in mass effect a repeat would be welcome but I find myself turned off by the idea of doing it again.

Actually you don't have to replay entire last mission. You only need to replay the run to that beautiful son of a **** Marauder Shields and repeat conversation with Anderson and TIM.

We'll see what happens with God-child conversation, if it is done right it might save their hides... might. But I doubt it.

I will play it for a simple reason that I have every DLC in all 3 games till now so I plan to see can they salvage the ruined story of Shepard with some good, REALLY GOOD closure. But I doubt BIG times that I'll get any of the DLC for ME3 or even try out another Bioware game till somebody who passed it tells me it is good.

I'll play it hey its free man might as well check it out. You never know you may be satisfied i doubt it but hey its worth a shot.

I'd rather see what other people have to say about it.

I don't want to download/install something that might make the ending and story even worse.

I don't know if their epilogue will be good, but if don't, at least this is such a good job

Since its free I will pick it up, but I'm not looking forward to going through the StarChild again.  Think I'll let Marauder Shields stop me a few times...

I'll play it, of course, and carefully avoid any spoilers pertaining it.

It makes for a good excuse to do that full trilogy run I've been wanting to do.

Yep, bit silly to not play it when it's free. After that I will pronounce my judgement! :P

Why not play it? It's free.

i don't understand people that won't play something that is free and addressing many of the fan questions because they don't like the ending how it is. This DLC is to clarify the ending. If you don't play it you're not even giving Bioware a chance.

Isn't there an autosave just before the scene with TIM and the fairy godchild?

Yeah, theres an autosave right before then so you only have to go back a little bit.

You realize it has the potential to make the ending even worse? If the same writers are doing it, it's possible they will write something very.... "artistic".

They ARE listening to fans and communities, so i think that's the last thing they'll do now. They know we want to know how the hell Joker and your squad is suddently manages to escape eveything, and also what happens to all our beloved characters and races from the series.
Mike Gamble directly stated that the extended cut "won't just be 'a few cinematics'" in a response to a fan on Twitter. They're working their asses off, and i bet we can have faith in them on this.
