So Here I am, cloud save corrupted (0-bytes). EA says BioWare is handling them and I got referred to the forums for help.

I was told by EA that BioWare is handling the cloud saves, so here is hoping that a developer at BioWare sees this post, because I have no idea how to get this sorted. Reverting to an earlier save is a no go, that one is two weeks old. And the cloud save is 0-bytes. I hope that BioWare keeps backups because there is actual money in those saves.

My last save is from 2am today 7th.

Here is the conversation from help:

> Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Neha how may I help you?
> you:
> Hello Neha, I have a problem with my game profile in mass effect 3, it is 0 bytes.

> Thank you xxxxxxx. (I hid this part for this post)
> you:

> Neha:
> Yes.

> Chat session has ended.

So I am dubious about this, is this really the way it should be handled? Through a forum?

This is also a warning to all, keep backups even if you use the cloud. I am potentially set back two weeks,
loosing all my wins etc...

This sucks something major in the lower regions.

I managed to solve it by deleting my local profile. Next restart gave me the offer to restore a backup only moments before the corruption (local copy) It is very strange that I am unable to pick this copy when "reverting" (that would give me a copy two weeks old). This is a bug that must be adressed.

Regardless, anyone reading this.. keep backups manually, it is the only sure way at the moment.

I hope this will help someone.

Here is some backstory. I played the game and it crashed twice when I did the same thing: Pressed 'D' + '3' and while moving changing to press '2'. I had also just before (on both occasions) just fired my rocket weapon ('5'). Both times the game crashed so hard I had to reboot the computer. The second time caused the local profile to be 0 bytes.

Incidentally, having a 0-byte local profile will cause (always) a crash when starting the game.

I hope this helps the developers at BioWare.

I don't think it will help, as far as I can tell the ea support sends us here to get us out of the way and Bioware despite claiming to address issues do not, in all the posts I have checked for any issues I have I have never heard from Bioware. glad you fixed it though cause EA and Bioware don't seem to care

Origin lost all my saves as well when enabling cloud (Luckily i backed them up first), and it kept on being buggy till i turned it off (sometime about different versions locally and on the cloud) and kept randomly switching between local saves and cloud saves. I turned it off. Now I just back up manually, Not like I'm playing it on any other computer anyway.

funny how so many tech "experts" say cloud computing is the future....not if they use EA's model, seriously though can EA do anything right? at all?
