Well damn I am excited I was not going to buy a PS3 for it.

Now all we need is Capcom to come to their senses and announce a PC version of Dragon's Dogma that way I can get excited for it.

According to clarification I saw, it was not 'Games For Windows Live' but just 'Games For Windows', which is the rather generic 'brand' on most PC games these days.

So panic averted, I hope. Dark Souls is a great game and everyone should play it.

Panic resumed.

Ah. Well, I'll have to hope the new bosses come to the console versions - nothing against GFWL, but it doesn't seem to work with my home PC for some reason. Can't play Fallout 3 anymore as a result, which is mildly irritating.

Still. Very good game - has some of the best level design I've ever seen, even if Blighttown murders frame rate.

Still, Anor Londo more than makes up for it. As does the Kiln of the First Flame. The level design really is brilliance.

Particularly how you discover the connectedness of everything as you play through. It really does feel very cohesive.

And Anor Londo was brilliant. My favourite area, though, was the Ash Lake. And Lost Izalith, aside from the irritating jumping dragon creatures.

See, I feel like I never got the full Lost Izalith "experience". My first two playthroughs I wanted to keep Solaire alive, so I always used that backpath through Quelaan's Covenant. But even on my third playthrough, I just kept island hopping and never fought any of the jumping dragons. I will admit that their size + numbers didn't make me too keen on the idea.

Honestly, the biggest issue with them was mostly due to technical glitches. Attacks would randomly miss, they'd end up in the geometry, etc. Made that whole section a nightmare not because they were particularly challenging, but the bugs became rather irritating by the end.

If I get this again I probably will not play an archer, I found that I broke the game pretty easily. And if it was pretty easy to get headshots with a controller, it is that much easier with the mouse and keyboard.

I had a different experience - found a bow was 'easy mode' in Demon's Souls, but in Dark Souls it didn't really do me much good. What bow were you using?

Console, but I was insanely worried we wouldn't get this new content. I want to know everything about Artorias, Dark Souls-style.

Yeah, agreed.

I've been meaning to get back to this and finish 100%'ing it. Think I'll do it after I'm done with Dragon's Dogma for the time being.
