Well I just reached the point in the game where I got about 3 new people within 5 minutes of each other. I'm kinda confused who to use. I'm bad with names and can't remeber the characters exact names but I have the rogue, stern, the mage, and the warrior that you start with and the dog. I'm a DW rogue about level 7 almost 8. Just wondering i what would be the best group set up?

For right now use
Yourself
Alistar (The warrior you start with guy)
Morrigan (The mage) (TEACH HER HEAL!)
Lelianna (The rogue as you called her)
For now , but replace Lelianna w/ Wynne (Healer) later on since you're a rogue and won't need Lelianna to do all your lockpicking

It's all preference, and according to your play style. For me 2 rogues is a waste of a slot, I used the dog, Allistair (until I got Shale), and Morrigan.

With my current DW rogue, I used Alastar, Morrigan and Dog initially. When I got Sten, he replaced Alastar. When I got Zevran, he replaced Dog.
