Definetely for me.

ME3 was my most anticipated of the year and let me down worse than any game, movie or book before it.

Pretty much this.

I'd say yes because I am disappointed. I'm disappointed that I have no desire to play this anymore. The fact that I still lurk around these forums is a testament to how good the game was up until the ending. It's a testament to how good the other Mass Effect games are. It's a testament to how good Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur's Gate are. But in the end, I'm utterly disappointed in Mass Effect 3. As I was rolling through the story, I was already planning on starting over a the beginning of the first game. Needless to say, that hasn't happened yet. I'm doubtful that it will.

ME3 is a fantastic game up until the last 5 minutes. It is completely stupid to call it a disappointment given how much it does well. The ending DID NOT ruin the entire game, or the series as so many have outlandishly claimed.

Overall, I like the game.. despite the bugs, teleportations and invisible banshees that give you a kiss. I had plenty of good laughs throughout the game and I love all the characters (ok.. especially Tali ;) )
The ending however is a different matter. Do I understand the ending? Yes..
Do I like the ending? NO!

It's only "artistic vision" if you're first.. then it's called carbon copy. It's inevitable that people will compare it to the ending in Deus Ex (1), but at least the sequel made attempts at putting together the mess left in the end of DX. If it hadn't been for the consolitis, it could have been a great game (but that's a different subject).

But it's given me an idea for a book..

Mass Effect 3 was indeed terrible.

The only good part was the Tuchanka arc. The Quarian/Geth conflict was handled rather poorly, and everything else regarding the story was just unfocused or purely idiotic, endings aside. Cerberus become completely stupid, the Quarians were shown to be absolutely evil while the Geth were the saintly robots, Udina is always the councillor regardless of what you picked, the Reapers don't even bother shutting down the Mass Relay network (why be efficient, after all?), too much emphasis was put on Earth and saving humanity (even though I'd much rather save all the other races), the Raloi were borderline retconned, Daro'Xen plays no important role, your squad from ME2 plays superficial roles, the romances were handled terribly and there was obvious preferential treatment to Liara and VS, there was less squad interaction, there were less squadmates, Shepard spoke too often without player input and the entire ending mission didn't reflect any of your choices.

Same here. Wasn't just the ending either for me.

Same, although I liked most of the game it felt very much rushed and is the least of all 3 ME games.

most disapointing game ever in my opinion, you don't lie to your fans a week before release and expect them not to be disapointed

Yes, definitely. Game is still good, but i doubt something else will have the same overall negative impact. Lies and nonsense made people sad and angry.

Nah, ME 3 shaping up to be my GOTY. BSN shouldn't be surprised if many many others feel the same.

I highly doubt it, ME3 was amazing, and Im not going to let 10 minutes ruin a 25+hour experience that was a awesome. Also, 2012 aint even done yet, however, you people could probably play Superman 64 and still find it better than ME3 at the moment.

Wow...just wow. Have anger issues? Intelligence isn't define by persepective or opinions of a game. My opinion of the game is it is a disappointing game which is not to be confused with "bad game". Read the first paragraph of the OP and not just the title which I am guessing that is all you did. Amazing how someone's post can tell a lot about there persepective of the world.;)

The vast majority of opinions here fall in with yes. Myself included.

I feel bad for those people who liked it. I really, really do.

So far, yes it is. But 2012 is far from over so maybe there will be even more fails.

No. It exceeded my expectations. Admittedly I always expect the worst especially of endings and so I was very pleased with what I got. Even the multiplayer is better than expected.

I'm pretty happy with the game → in fact, it is on my all-time top 10 list.
I can see why people don't like it and thats fine too.

So far. High expectations, massive letdown.

There will be - already are - 2012 games with worse endings. But not games with as high expectations.

Just by looking at what else is releasing this year, Mass Effect 3 is the only video game I'll purchase this year. Yes, the ending was a disappointment, but I loved the rest of the game.

I can only think of a couple of games that were more disappointing than Mass Effect 3:

- Dead Island with it's dramatic and beautiful trailer
- Some of the shovelware for the Atari 2600 (including E.T. and Pac Man which was a horribly broken port of the arcade version)

ME3 is catching a lot of attention because of the hype and expectation. Considering a lot has been said about how choices would determine the outcome i.e. ending. And frankly, no other game this year so far had so much investment and love than ME3. Because of these expectations which seems to have been met beginning, middle, that continues to build up to that climax and then ... the ending. It was such a shame really, they have crafted a very good story, about the genophage (it hurts to see how your betrayal of Wrex pans out - it pains me seeing it through; and the geth-quarian war (your choices do matter from what was done in ME2 and then how you acted to resolving the conflict, either siding with Tali or Legion (if not careful, the outcome is heart wrenching). These two stories were so good that I expected the build up would continue at the ending.

Hope they do really fix this in the DC DLC. I could not just imagine how they made a mess on the ending, releasing it like that. A lot of plotholes. It was anticlimatic. Sure the game was great but the ending just ruin the experience, which leave a bitter undesirable aftertaste. Which is very difficult to get used to. I have experience liking something - like an acquired taste - but the ending - I could not like it to matter what is said about it. I could not make a connection.

Not going to call it that yet. Diablo 3 is behind the corner... and that is basicly the only game that has enough hype in it to be able to disappoint to the amount ME 3 did.

Kinda doubt Activision Blizzard will allow itself to make a mistake EA did with Bioware but you never know.

I never said the game "sucks". I said it was disappointing which is different. The word "sucks" implies I didn't find anything entertaining in the game which is something I did not say. I said the game play was fun. I said the story was disappointing and that is still different than "sucks". I saw glimmers of a fantastic story here, but Bioware/EA did not live up their own standards in that department. I am not comparing ME 3 to any other game except for ME 1 and 2 which is fair since those are the standards I am using. In OP, I thought I made that clear. Sorry, if I wasn't clear enough for everyone.

I rather expect that to play like a bad hollywood movie with occasional breaks for somebody to shout, "God Bless America".

It's unlikely that it's going to be worse than I expect it to be.

I'm expecting Diablo 3 to have a proper plot so i suspect that may be the disappointing one for me. ;)

It's too early to tell anyway. Disappointing ending, yes, disappointing game, maybe not.
