Jason's suggestions wouldn't work for me as I downloaded the game with Steam. Actually running the game with administrator privileges was what *finally* allowed the modules to install. Since you can't do that directly through Steam, if anyone is having this problem here's how you fix it:
1)Open up Explorer and browse to:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship
or
C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship
(only one should exist).
2) Right click DAOrigins.exe and select "Run as administrator"
3) Let the modules install.
As an aside, I've been trying to get this game working for three hours now. I'm a fan of Bioware but this is a pretty epic fail. I work in IT and have for the past 4-5 years -- and I can't imagine how a typical end-user would be able to get through these kinds of problems.

Thanks Aderyn, that worked for me.
Things like this are why I play games on console almost exclusively now. Made an exception for DA. *sigh*

I have Steam too and that did not work for me. I have tried everything from clean installs to messing with admin settings, manual installs etc. The DLC is fully downloaded and the install fails everytime. I have deleted and redownloaded several times. This is such crap.

can we get dlc installed if we have 1.02 version?
I seem to be having the same problems. the content is downloaded 100% but does not install. I tried the methods above that worked for others but for me that just forces it to redownload and not install. I have V1.02 of the game installed and I noticed that the DLC mention it requires v 1 of the game. how do I get it to DL the proper version of my DLC? or is it possible that game version 1.02 is not compatable with the DLC that came with the game (bad move biware if true!!)
