I just finished the campain........Then after the campain is over, it allows me to continue on with other missions...Why is this considering that manner in which the Game ends???

Which Mass Effect?
Regardless, so people don't HAVE to start a new game just to finish the side missions

The option is there to finish all side quests before the end of the main story, so I don't see where the problem is. Roleplay is left up to each individual player..or would you rather have the game roll the credits and kick you to the main menu?

I'm only guessing but I think his problem might be that Shepard's dead (again), or at a push the last one left on a wrecked Citadel and buried under a pile of rubble, the Normandy's a pile of scrap metal on an unindentified planet somewhere, your team's either stranded with it or dead, and all the mass relays are borked and presumably took the systems they were in with them when they blew (and even if they didn't they are still borked).... So it's a bit weird that all that suddenly gets unhappened just so you can carry on with side quests you didn't get round to before the Star Toddler made you break the whole frickking galaxy. From a gaming perspective it makes sense to let you carry on, and it's something I wish ME1 had had, but from a story point of view it makes about as much sense as Harry Potter sending his kids off on the train and them arriving at school to find that Dumbledore and Snape are still there and inexplicably not dead after all.Carlos3lance wrote...

the game rewinds to the point before the attack on the Cerberus base (check the time counter it will probably be 4 or 5 hours before the ending).
The idea is you can then do new dlc (not yet released) and then presumably redo the last bits if any extra war assets you have accumulated
(Note both dragon age games also warped you back in time for DLCs but were not set to allow a redo of the end fight)

Yeah, I guess...I'm actually still waiting for my pre-ordered hard copy so I can't be to subjective...Even if Shephard was dead though, I guess at worst it could be like an open single player feature. If nothing else, the mass effect universe is quite scenic if you stop to take a look...
Like I said, it's better to have the option to revisit places out of character, than to be kicked after the credits.

Yep I agree with you all...It's just that I landed at Sanctuary way too soon. But I was reading my logs and it stated that the people there needed help PDQ...So I went....I'll replay the game.

Its there so that once some more content comes out DLC, or if there was a point where you wanted to finish up that one last little side quest you could!
Happy Gameing
