Multiplayer is the result of piracy and DRM.

EA wants multiplayer so you have to connect to their servers in order to verify your copy of the game and any DLCs are legitimate.

Again, this screws over paying customers while pirates get around it.

Another reason why I don't want MP in my SP focused games.

I don't think they will change it.

1. They don't care about sp
2. It might possibly mean they sell a few less mp items.

That's EA for you. I remember when they made it so you have to always have a Internet connection to play Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3. Unbelievable.

It would really depend on if they actually said "best" or "all". One is subjective, the other is not.

That being said, I definitely believe a patch giving you a minimum readiness score making it POSSIBLE (Not easy) to reach 4k points without MP should be added. I can't imagine it would be hard. They likely think DLC will fill the gap in short order, but again, that isn't all that great of a solution, either.

On the flip side, I am approaching the point (and I am sure a few have blown past it) where your N7 Spec ops (Multiplayer) benefits would be enough to give you 4000 Readiness points on their own. At some point I can choose to do whatever I like in SP and always have enough for every ending. Who needs a fleet when you have like 100 level 20 N7 characters!?!?!

Well according to Jessica Merizan's twitter posts, Shepard can survive in one ending and he can be re-united with the Normandy's crew. Since we know we are not getting any 'new endings' and Shepard can only live if you have 4000+ EMS, obviously everyone is going to be going for the Shepard lives ending and as it stands right now gamers like my self will never be able to achieve this ending just by playing Single Player. It is physically impossible to get the Shepard lives ending without multiplayer.

Yep, it is a pity that you can't get all the endings without MP....

I'm in the same boat as the op. I have to move my modem from one room to the next to get internet for the xbox, large hassle and I only normally do it to get updates and content.

I'm in a similar situation, to a lesser extent however. I've solo'd my entire multiplayer experience and I can honestly say it is nearly impossible without a Krogan character. Unfortunately, that means spending money on the Spectre Pack and Premium Spectre pack.

I proposed Split-Screen or bots, since the idea is really cool. It just leaves those in the boonies hanging dry.

As a side note, Bioware better not weaken the Krogan, multiplayer just can't be solo'd without them.

Get a save editor.

See the same ending with all sorts of EMS. :3

OP is playing on xbox

You can use the saved editors on XBOX with some fiddling around, I thought. And a flash drive.

And I assume a box of scraps and a cave or something.

I support the request that default readiness is set to 55%.

This is very valid. There are those of us who don't like MP. I know there's the iPhone app (many people don't have iPhones though). I think the totals need to be adjusted somewhat at least. Surely a simple patch could address this?

I support this. You should not be punished because you don't have an internet connection.

It is a legit complaint to me.  Especially considering they promised this would not happen.

Then again, they promised us a capstone ending, where all our chances would matter, but instead we because a plaything to an omnipotent child who needed help with a decision about why his toys didn't play well together.

That is a great solution, and very easy to patch.

Yeah that is probably why. Unfortunately their efforts to get at pirates has hurt us, the legitimate users much more. "Piracy" is just an autonomous and inevitable result of advancing communications technology. They can't stop it and more often than not pirates buy products that are worth buying anyway.

Besides that, it's a growing indication of the irrelevancy of exchange currency, which I'm sure threatens big boy capitalists. Judging from this game and the profiteering EA is doing, that sounds like a good thing to me.

I do believe that on pc you can edit the coalesced.ini to mod the war asset value, so I really don't think that Captain Jack Sparrow will feel any pain about the multiplayer.

I've never understood this complaint. It's perfectly possible to get the best ending without playing the multiplayer. I didn't play it at all on my first playthrough (and bear in mind, this was without importing a save, so I didn't even get the readiness bonues of all the ME2 stuff) and I got the best possible ending (3 choices; Shepard lives etc.). Just get 100% completeness in every system, do every fetch-quest and side mission, make wise choices etc. It takes a while, but hey, you should have to work to get the best possible ending (best being relative). You don't have to play multiplayer.

Readiness also resets to 50% if you don't play multiple daily too.

They should've made N7 missions done in single player up your galactic readiness percent by a permanent percentage for that playthrough. There are quite a bit so maybe 7.5% each? Or at the very least, stop galactic readiness decay.

If you have to implement a mechanic like that to get people to keep playing your multiplayer. Then you haven't achieved anything in making a good multiplayer. A success would be a multiplayer people play because they enjoy it. And it is not required. Heck, if you could unlock special guns for single player because of multiplayer that would have been better than decaying readiness.

I support this petition. I play BW games for the story and SP gameplay. I hope the devs consider this option.

Let the MPers have their fun with future DLC improvements but don't penalize the old-schoolers here.

Hey, I was wondering, will BIOWARE do something about the fact that its IMPOSSIBLE to get the best ending when only playing SP.
Because my Xbox is to far from any internet source. So I can't play multiplayer.
I find it incredible that a SINGLE PLAYER game can't be propaly finished without MP...
The only moment I go on Xbox live is to download DLC, and I put my xbox in the hallway to do so.

BIOWARE could you please at least allow us to play the MP maps alone and without internet connection.

This is going to be an incredibly easy issue to fix at least one of their many broken promises (that playing MP will NOT be necessary to unlock the 'best' i.e. only different ending).  Someone in another thread suggested simply bumping up galactic readiness by default - why not? That is much less hassle than figuring out ways of allowing us to play MP maps alone.  Even if it only happens after a certain mission/point in the game - it would fix this stupid, glaring, totally unfair issue.

Mass Effect was made popular and successful by SINGLE PLAYER ROLE PLAYING. To punish those of us that still play this way is ludicrous and unfair. I paid the same price as anyone else (I'm betting I paid a good bit more than most...) - why am I being denied part of the game?

You could check for patch releases here, assuming they'd be  decent enough to ever do such a thing.  They've yet to admit any fault on anything, so this is kinda doubtful.
