I've never understood this complaint. It's perfectly possible to get the best ending without playing the multiplayer. I didn't play it at all on my first playthrough (and bear in mind, this was without importing a save, so I didn't even get the readiness bonues of all the ME2 stuff) and I got the best possible ending (3 choices; Shepard lives etc.). Just get 100% completeness in every system, do every fetch-quest and side mission, make wise choices etc. It takes a while, but hey, you should have to work to get the best possible ending (best being relative). You don't have to play multiplayer.

That's obvious trolling

It isn't trolling in slightest. Trolling is posting deliberately ignorant or inflamatory comments with the intention of getting a negative reaction out of people. I'm not doing that at all; I'm simply stating that I got the best possible ending without playing multiplayer by completing everything in the single player.

I never asked for MP.
I tried to play it solo and failed horribly. I tried to use the quick-join function and I was kicked in a seconds. Oh and I have no close friends to play with, because of the endings.
Thanks BW!

I had friends to play MP with... but then we had bills to pay and couldn't afford Gold any more.
Then we cleared ME3 and didn't want to play at all any more :(

If I could actually get the only different ending without MP, I'd be able to play it at least once more and feel a little less like BW have stolen £65 from me. I feel mugged.

I like the multiplayer but I support this as well.

Don't like the idea that you HAVE to play multiplayer to get all out of your singleplayer.

I get that you might want people to check out multiplayer but you should do it in another way.

You can promote characters to singleplayer and get a little asset boost. How about adding some weapon or armor that you can only win through multiplayer but keep in singleplayer if you win it?

Aka. more carrot than whip approach to get people to try multiplayer.

Easiest fix:

EITHER patch the Readiness to deafult to 60% instead of 50%

OR patch the various assets to each contribute an extra 10 points each or something.

Job done.

That is the greatest idea ever

Close allthough I still think inventing fire was better. I do like mah meat well done.

Well, then it´s a lie :)
If you don´t say what choices were taken in account, nobody will believe you!

Yeah I'm up for this. I'm a single player campaigner through and through. Not a big fan of MP, and less so when a game is made so that MP affects my SP campaign directly.

@Cheesesack

I imported me1 to me2 to me3 save with all dlc, side missions, upgrades, max levels, all alive, and promoted 4 characters in mp so +40 war assets. Max I could squeeze with 50% readiness was 3725. You need 5000 to get possible best ending. So you are either troll or liar. Choose wisely

You can get 4000 EMS without MP. In addition to doing all the side quests, having squad members from ME2 survive etc, unifying the Quarians and Geth etc, you must have killed the council (so your alliance fleet is larger), killed Wrex (so that you can betray the Krogan with the genophage cure, and get both the Salarian and Krogan war assets. If Wrex survives and you sabotage the genophage cure, he will find out).

There has been the presumption that in order to get the best ending, you needed to be full paragon, be the Galaxys most honest and just soldier. But in fact this is not the case at all! This is considerably more complex outcome-wise. Just because the choices you make seem fair and appropriate at the time, in the long run, they might indeed be the wrong ones. And the choices were made such a long time ago means that there is no simple restart. This is what Bioware were talking about when they said there will be consequences for your choices. So many people still dont understand the whole of the ME3 is the culmination of your choices from 1 and 2.

You're right about killing Wrex, but you're wrong about the council.  The reward Valern gives you, the salarian Third Fleet is worth more than what Esheel gives you, the STG Task Force.  When you add in the value of the Destiny Ascension, saving the Council in the first game nets you more war assets than sacrificing them.

Hmm could someone then perhaps post all choices ingame and their asset value?

Specifically a combination that when put together give the required 5000 assets?

I haven't personally gone looking for it but the question pops up quite often and people claim that it's either impossible / possible.

there are walkarounds on the internet which will give you %100 readiness, there's a file in your save data which determines readiness, and your'e 'pathching' it to get %100.

I'd be interested in seeing them reduce the base readiness to 0%. Then, as you make your way through the game the readiness is raised on the number of missions you do. That way completionists like myself have something to strive for and people that don't want to do that still have multiplayer to get around it.

Feel free to post screenshots of your war assets. Even if your current readiness is 100% is fine because we can total the numbers ourselves and compare against the war assets found in the coalesced bin file and we can deduct off the promoted characters.

Again feel free to post screens to show you can hit 8k TMS

Don't you see it?
In mp You can buy gear for BW points (cash, duuh). They will make You play it just for a small chance that You'll buy them.
They are greedy bastards. Simple.

A few things:

1. You can't get over 4000 EMS in single player alone. There aren't enough mutually exclusive war assets listed in the coalesced file to bring the total military strength above 8000. I made a group about this a couple days ago, there's a copy of all the war assets available in there. And to assume that those of us who are complaining about this just aren't completionists like you is disingenuous.

2. Several of us have pm'ed Thomas Abram about this, because in another thread he specifically said to. He said that people should be able to achieve 4000 EMS in single player. So no, they're not talking about the Synthesis ending, they're specifically talking about the Breath ending.

3. Thomas Abram was sent a copy of the list of war assets and promised to look at it in the next week or two and post a response in the forums.

4. This may not be an issue to a lot of people, but for several of us it's rather important, and will become even more important later on when the extended cut is released.

http://social.bioware.com/group/7206 is the group we started.

I support this. They promised that you could get all the endings with just SP, you'd just have to do most of the sidequests. This didn't happen. Lock the galactic readiness at 60% and problem solved. All endings reachable without MP.

Hey, I was wondering, will BIOWARE do something about the fact that its IMPOSSIBLE to get the best ending when only playing SP.
Because my Xbox is to far from any internet source. So I can't play multiplayer.
I find it incredible that a SINGLE PLAYER game can't be propaly finished without MP...
