They don't care about SP gamers anymore. They're with the rest of the industry in wanting to for everyone online to make money off us.
This..
Bioware and Bethesda have dedicated fans who will buy any game they make, but it seems like both companies would rather make the next Halo clone. Most people didn't buy this game for MP and forcing it on us won't help.
Fine, you win, MP games are the best... So, let me sell my copy of ME3 and buy a real one.

Yes because I know I'm not the only one in this situation, I feel like I have part of the game blocked.
Its a real shame.
I really want BIOWARE to take notice of this issue.
Its a problem even for people with Xboxlive
Just think later, when people wont be playing MP anymore.
This is actually very true, although I have a feeling any newly released dlc will be able to buff up the assets before MP becomes deserted.

Yep they need to patch that so you dont need to play online. Make it you can either get ready for the final mission by doing side quests or MP.
They won't take out needing to login to the servers simply because it's a DRM issue. Same thing as what is being talked about with Diablo III. if they had given us a way to increase readyness in SP say through something like Pinical Station was but with you squad and against ai enemies or more quests where you rescue squads that would have made sense. As it stands I have to wonder what if any feedback their testers gave them.

I'd be interested in seeing them reduce the base readiness to 0%. Then, as you make your way through the game the readiness is raised on the number of missions you do. That way completionists like myself have something to strive for and people that don't want to do that still have multiplayer to get around it.
I agree.
This would follow a similar pattern to the mechanics of the previous ME's.
But on the other hand it makes too much sense.
Personally I wasn't too happy with the introduction of MP on the very last game in the series,
but that's a topic for another discussion.

Play MP it really isn't that bad.
The OP stated that he can't, as his Xbox doesn't have internet access.
I still play and enjoy the MP (more so than the SP, actually), but this is a totally valid complaint imo; the SP "Shep Lives" ending should not be exclusively available to people who play MP.

You can get 4000 EMS without MP. In addition to doing all the side quests, having squad members from ME2 survive etc, unifying the Quarians and Geth etc, you must have killed the council (so your alliance fleet is larger), killed Wrex (so that you can betray the Krogan with the genophage cure, and get both the Salarian and Krogan war assets. If Wrex survives and you sabotage the genophage cure, he will find out).
There has been the presumption that in order to get the best ending, you needed to be full paragon, be the Galaxys most honest and just soldier. But in fact this is not the case at all! This is considerably more complex outcome-wise. Just because the choices you make seem fair and appropriate at the time, in the long run, they might indeed be the wrong ones. And the choices were made such a long time ago means that there is no simple restart. This is what Bioware were talking about when they said there will be consequences for your choices. So many people still dont understand the whole of the ME3 is the culmination of your choices from 1 and 2.
this not true at all - even with all that you CANNOT get to 4000 EMS - but thank you on confusing the issue - and people who play PS3 are even more screwed beacsue among other things they cannot get the 100 war assets from Shiala...

That's a legit complaint to me. I don't like that they made the multi-player affect the single player campaign to that degree,
I second that...
I don't like MP fragfest and clearly, just bashing some monsters in loop, is not my cup of tea : one more lie from Bioware...
JPR out!

No! just no! Even worse, the readiness is decaying, forcing you to play more MP...

Seriously, I was told I wouldn't need to play MP to get the "best" (subjective) ending, but I 100% every ME game with all achievements, maxed characters, and full paragon "right" choices made with everyone survived and ready for the ME3 war... and I peaked at around 3800 or so.
Fix that, please. If only because that stupid ME3 app is all I can use and it's as efficient and enjoyable to use as soaking wet toilet paper.

Shooting bots on multiplayer maps sounds like a good idea, like how they did it in Gears of war 2 or Killzone 3.

Also I remember them saying something about all achievements having a single player counterpart, IIRC two require MP which is another lie they told.

Pretty much any game with horde/firefight shows that it could be single player they just wanted it multiplayer so that they can release DLC faster which requires no voice actors but only new arena designs.

Multiplayer is the result of piracy and DRM.
EA wants multiplayer so you have to connect to their servers in order to verify your copy of the game and any DLCs are legitimate.
Again, this screws over paying customers while pirates get around it.
That's what Origin is for. MP is for attracting new customers.

Yeah this needs to be fixed! After I got Ash all sorted I kept doing the walk to them hear what they have to say, then walk to Javik and back. Until I got them to hook up.

Hey, I was wondering, will BIOWARE do something about the fact that its IMPOSSIBLE to get the best ending when only playing SP.
Because my Xbox is to far from any internet source. So I can't play multiplayer.
I find it incredible that a SINGLE PLAYER game can't be propaly finished without MP...
The only moment I go on Xbox live is to download DLC, and I put my xbox in the hallway to do so.
BIOWARE could you please at least allow us to play the MP maps alone and without internet connection.
totally legit gripe. but this is an industry-wide problem now. Eventually even Dreamcatcher games are going to require constant internet access. DRM, marketing spam and spyware, and most importantly, that lovely evil known as microtransactions requires constant IV's into the credit card data.
We all know where EA stands on microtransactions now, and that is probably why this will never be done. It's why MP was introduced inb the first place.
But boy, I feel your pain. This was one of the worst things to hit gaming. But it ain't going nowhere unless players stop paying for bullets on the fly, or trinkets, or different color uniforms, etc.

$$$$$ But I think you already knew that. Check out the EA CEO video that was used as exhibit A for the
EA worst biz award. That video answers every question ever raised about MP for the last decade.

The problem is that they didn't consider the destroy/breathing ending to be the best. In their twisted view, the synthesis was "best". So when they said you could get best with no MP, that's what they meant.
Yes! Let us turn the entire galaxy into cyborgs. NO!
Yes! Let us destroy galactic civilization. NO!
Yes! Let us become a Reaper ourselves. NO!
Frodo went to the uttermost west . . . he didn't die.
Thomas Covenant, deep in dispair, didn't take Kevin Landwaster's solution and destroy the Land to save it.
When Beowulf killed Grendal's Mother, he didn't become the monster Grendal himself.
Gilgamesh succeeded, even if Enkidu died and the goddess Ishtar became his immortal enemy.
Bilbo said, "and they lived happily ever after until the ends of their days". And this is good.
