Easiest fix:

EITHER patch the Readiness to deafult to 60% instead of 50%

OR patch the various assets to each contribute an extra 10 points each or something.

Job done.

I agree. Besides, I don't think ME3's MP will really last that long. It's not that bad, but it's just a reheat of Gears of War 2 & 3's hoard mode. It's fun, but extremely repetitive after a while. I doubt anyone but core ME fans will be playing MP at this time next year, so I think that BioWare and EA need to patch that aspect for when the MP dies down. Anyway, a largely SP game should NEVER have it's campaign affected by MP.

Assassin's Creed has MP, but you DON'T HAVE TO PLAY IT if you don't want to. The MP and SP are both separately contained so they don't affect one another. Anyway, that's my thoughts.

Story-wise it's not like your war assets make a difference in the end anyway. You don't see them fighting along you; the end comes down to Star Kid coming out of the blue and giving you some choices...

The Defender trophy/achievement should have an 'OR' condition like the other Multiplayer ones.
As this is unachievable if you don't play multiplayer for whatever reason.

Also I WANT to be able to WATCH the 'secret' ending by playing MY game and NOT by watching a youtube video!!

But this will also fall on deaf ears like the entire 'we are listening' debacle!

They don't care about SP gamers anymore. They're with the rest of the industry in wanting to for everyone online to make money off us.

Just another reason to not BUY into the E/A scheme, for PC players it's not at all difficult to max out GR, just DL a mod and go for it.Image IPB

Yeah whatever, cheaters never win.................bite me, I achieved over 12000/6000, and didn't break a sweat.Image IPB

As for modding, it's MY single-player experience, and I'll enjoy it MY WAY.Image IPB

You can get 4000 EMS without MP. In addition to doing all the side quests, having squad members from ME2 survive etc, unifying the Quarians and Geth etc, you must have killed the council (so your alliance fleet is larger), killed Wrex (so that you can betray the Krogan with the genophage cure, and get both the Salarian and Krogan war assets. If Wrex survives and you sabotage the genophage cure, he will find out).

There has been the presumption that in order to get the best ending, you needed to be full paragon, be the Galaxys most honest and just soldier. But in fact this is not the case at all! This is considerably more complex outcome-wise. Just because the choices you make seem fair and appropriate at the time, in the long run, they might indeed be the wrong ones. And the choices were made such a long time ago means that there is no simple restart. This is what Bioware were talking about when they said there will be consequences for your choices. So many people still dont understand the whole of the ME3 is the culmination of your choices from 1 and 2.

You know, people have been saying you can get 4000+ EMS without MP since release and yet when asked to provide screenshots we havent seen a SINGLE one.   Until someone (doesnt have to be you) posts a screenshot of this we should be continuing to demand Bioware make it possible in SOME way reliant only on SP.

It's bad enough that all your choices get reduced to an arbitrary number that is your War assets. It gets further devalued by the fact that the sum of all your choices in the game is reduced to a question of how many hours of multiplayer (or iOS game) you have to play be fore you get all the colours of the ending.

God I wish people would stop spewing nonsense when they have no idea what they're talking about.

Your max EMS normally (saving the council, curing the genophage, making peace between the Quarians and Geth, and gathering all galaxy map assets) is around 3600 and change at 50% readiness.

If you had killed Wrex in ME1 and manage to trick Wreav, you gain the "Salarian First Fleet" which is worth 75 EMS (150 * 50%). It's also apparently possible for Mordin to survive (12.5 EMS or 25 * 50%). That's your only net gain in this scenario. It's also been confirmed that saving the council nets you slightly more points than if you had killed them:

Council died

STG Task Force (70 TMS)
Admiral Mikhailovich (25 TMS)
Total: 95 TMS

Council saved

Salarian Third Fleet (125 TMS)
+8 for "Citadel: Heating Unit Stabilizers"
Alliance First Fleet (-25 TMS)
Alliance Third Fleet (-25 TMS)
Alliance Fifth Fleet (-25 TMS)
The Destiny Ascension (70 TMS)
Total: 128 TMS

Screenshot please. And no it was not a presumption. The game files were cracked and the war assets totalled. IIRC, the final was 7800 thereabouts with 2 assets disabled. If those 2 assets were enabled, those with the "From Ashes" dlc (which gave 100) could hit the 4k EMS without multiplayer

The problem is that, while there may be enough total war assets to get the ending in the game, many of those assets are mutually exclusive.  You cannot have both the STG Task Force and the salarian Third Fleet.  You cannot have both Mordin and Wrex.  So, while the points may be there, it is impossible to get them all in a single playthrough.

Is there an (official) list what shows which War assets are obtainable in their respective category.

I found a list here which shows which decisions affect your War Assets

My preferred system is PS3 and looking at decisions under Mass Effect 1

- Don’t attack al-Jilani
- *Help Jenna in Chora’s Den
- *Gather the Asari Matriarch’s materials in the Asari Matriarch Writings Gathering side quest
- *Buy the Elkoss Combine Liscence
- Kill Wrex
- *Save Kirrahe on Virmire
- *Save the colonists
- *Save Shiala
- *Persuade Jeong to have ExoGeni stay on Feros
- Save the Rachni Queen
- *Tell Conrad Verner to go home
- Save the Council
- *Play the Bring Down the Sky DLC and let Balak go unharmed

Those marked with a * are not achievable on the PS3 so how do we get those War Assets?
The highest EMS I can get is just under 3600 (this is with Mordin dying), but looking at that list I see there are quite a few decisions I didn't make in Mass Effect 3.

Hmm.....

Very good point! I'm on the PS3, too, so there's no way for me to get those points either. I would have loved to play ME1 if they had it for the PS3, but they didn't. It's not fair to penalize PS3 players for that. It was bad enough to be unable to get a discount for that Illium store because Conrad Verner wasn't there, but to not have enough points to get all the endings (if they ever make a fix so that you don't have to play multiplayer) just because you're on the PS3 would be maddening. So this needs to be taken into consideration, too.
