Decided to do that mission for the Mushroom cloud, I don't know what to do about the bomb but one thing is for sure. I am not giving it to those crazy ass extremists.

My logic is that if he wanted to use it to blow up the town he would have done it already.

I've been busy with work and haven't delved much into it yet.  I just finished the agricultural center and... Hightown? whatever the name of the other story area is.  All I know is that character you can recruit before you leave the citadel for the first time (Ace's girl) is OP as ****.  She has some amusing banter, but I didn't realize at first she was 14 levels higher than the rest of my squad.  I might have to restart and just not recruit her.

Computer Science is so OP in Damonta. WTF. I'm just hacking these robots and making them fight themselves.

So good.

So far. Wasteland > Divinity not even close.

How are you all allocating points?  Are you min/maxing stats?  Putting 2 points in 3 skills, 1 in 6?  I swear, I can't go 3 hours without cursing and restarting the game because my party blew.

Bah! I'm still waiting for Obsidian to cough up the GOG key for the game (I got Wasteland 2 as a bonus for backing PoE). Seriously thinking of doing a Fallout 1 run to get my post-apocalypse fix.

I go 8 in intelligence for all my characters for 4 skills per level. They seem to be the most important, since the bonuses they give, compared to attributes are huge, and without high weapon skills you are going to miss too much. The rng is a huge problem. I miss 2-3 times in a row with 70% hit chance and I want to break the keyboard.

Then I try to get 10 action points for my pc. I do this with coordination since speed doesn't seem that important. Most weapons need 4, 5 or 6 ap points to fire once. This means that with 10 action points, if it costs 4, you can shoot 2 times one turn and 3 the other (because 2 points carry over), if it costs 5 you can shoot 2 times each turn, and if they cost 6, you can crouch and shoot the first turn, and shoot twice the next turn. Im not sure how many ap the later weapons cost, I just got the tier 2 weapons and FAMAS costs 4 while the Sniper costs 5.

Get 5 on strength (I think that's the amount needed to use the heavy armor), 1 on luck and charisma cause they are kinda useless. But I'm not sure how awareness works. Sometimes it seems that more awareness allows you to play more times in a rotation. I'll need to get definitive info on this. I'll probably restart the run, more optimized this time.

Charisma is only good for the character that has leadership. Give him leadership and conversational skills, and don't bother any more with him. Just keep him safe during fights. I noticed that high charisma characters get a lot more xp, level up way faster than my pc, but I don't think it's worth it. Skills cost a lot, 2 for the first 3 points, then 4 and then 6. Faster levels for less skills doesn't seem to worth the trade and we are already very tight in attribute points.

I swear the big problem is the lack of bullets. Weapons without high skill miss too much, wasting too many bullets. I just reached the prison (fairly early in the game I guess), and my melee characters just can't tank well enough while my pc and Deth do a ton of damage. I think when I restart the game I'll disregard melee skills completely and invest heavily in weapons.

Also as far as non combat skills go, I think it's better for everyone to invest in only one. You get a lot of companions (starting four, Deth right at the start of the game, and another one at the first city you go), so no need for companions to have multiple skills. The medical skills are very underwhelming as well. 1 skill in surgeon is more than enough, I still haven't found any use for more. Perhaps they are more important later, who knows.

Like an above poster said, all my chars have 8 int. Right now everyone but my thief/skill monkey character (who has 3) is just focusing on two skills, one primary combat and one primary utility.  I'm still fairly early in the game though I'm sure I'll branch out as I go.

I disagree with the melee being crap though, mod melee weapons to use less AP and you absolutely shred people.

Ranks top on kickstarter rpgs. The amount of environment interaction and importance of stats is remarkable.

Each memeber of my party has their own strengths + 1 combat skill and I am making out those strengths.

I have a computer scientist with high intelligence who is also a mean sniper and I have a brute grunt with crazy ass strength for meelee and brute force.

After some testing I switched a few things around. Decided to try something with more early power, sacrificing 1 skill point per level and investing in awareness for my main character. Initiative doesn't work like dnd. The more you have, the more times you attack during a rotation. Also this time around I made each member specialize in a different weapon, to manage ammo easier. It's way stronger than my previous build but I don't know how it will perform late game. Less skills and less action points seems a risky trade off. I guess I need to progress more to find out.

Also I bring along a specialized melee character. I don't find him particularly strong but it works better than the hybrids I used earlier.

My main is a sniper, deth uses the assault rifle, rose and hybrid use handguns, melee uses blades with a huge strength and awareness score and the skillmonkey doesn't use any combat skill at all but has very high leadership, 9 charisma and 10 intelligence, so she levels up pretty fast with 5 skills per level.

I guess I'll wait and see how it will develop. It's extremely strong early game. I'm curious to see when the shortcomings will start to show.

Do you have a computer scientist? They come in handy when opening locks, hacking robots and computers

I got Rose for this playthrough (saving the agricultural city). She starts with a very high hacking score. I have a hybrid that gets lockpicking and safecracking along with handguns, and a skill monkey that has leadership, kiss ass, mechanical repair and demolitions with no damage skill. Deth has bashing and assault rifles. She is too high level to worth using her as a skill monkey. My main character has weaponsmithing and sniping.

I didn't invest in alarm cutting and still haven't found any reason to get perception. Got a few points on my very first run, didn't see any difference. If they turn out to be useful, I can get them for rose, she has 10 INT so she gets a lot of skills.

Huh, that's annoying, it seems that the Tinker boss's technical skills apply on both sides of the fourth wall, I was about to kill him in Damonta when he crashed the game during his turn. Clever boy...

I just finished up the quests for the Mannerites. I think they're my favorite faction in this game so far, they're hilarious.
