I fainted for 5 minutes when first was it, Scorpitron(if i remember right?) did very bad things to when in first game.

Wow, that's an awesome image! The game looks PERFECT.
That's almost too much awesome to stomach!
Hope they won't cave in to modern tastes and won't make some turn based/real-time hybrid with pause... Turn-based with Action Points all the way!

Now the only thing I dislike... I may be the only one, mind you... is full party creation. I prefer the style: create one character - your own - and recruit a group of NPCs... each with his individual personality. Like in Planescape:Torment and.. yes... Fallouts.

Well we create our party AND recuit a group of NPCs too. Which we dont have full control over and can steal form us or even backstabs us.

Yeah you can play it topdown, but cam. angle is fully controlable too.

I don't think I can describe in words how happy this makes me. This is probably the best $30 I've ever spent. Would've thrown in more, but I was pretty damn broke.

That looks absolutely beautiful. Seriously, it is coming out great. Looks like it could pass for Fallout: Van Buren. Best money I've spent on a video game in a LONG time.

Yeah some of them backers found this pre-alpha screenshot to cartoony, some of them found it too bright. you know how this works, you cannot please everyone at the same time.

The smoothness is due to the fact that it is an early WIP shot of the game, and not all the details have been slipped in yet. It's not overly colorful at all(unless you're into brown/grey/etc filters), though the smooth appearance might be creating that perception. And there's no post-processing, which can reduce the color saturation quickly. That and the proportions of some of the objects are off. Like the ladder and the desert rangers.

And yes, it's been debated a lot on the Wasteland 2 forums. Brian's aware of everyone's 'cartoony' complaints.

Others may have seen this but new to me, a poll on the Wasteland 2 site which shows the same shot with post-processing and then rendered even more dully.  I would go with the medium, which is also the most popular in the poll.

I wouldn't mind bleak if there were contrasts of color.

I'd probably want a mix between A and B. C isn't bad necessarily but too many games have that ultra destaurated look. Some color and vibrancy is nice, especially since its supposed to be at sunset. Anyway, as Fargo noted, this is just to figure out the default look; you'll be able to adjust to your pleasure.

So happy I contributed to Wasteland 2 and Dead State.

You can still donate and get rewards through paypal at their website. I had to choose for B. I HATE C. Skyrim tried the whole desaturated look and I can stand it. I like my games colorful.

A compromise between A and B (closer to is just about right. I choose B though if fidelity is limited to these choices.  A is bit too much, C is far too little. Take my money either way.

BTW, since I'm a total Wasteland noob, and this appears the forum for it, are the Desert Rangers of Wasteland the same D.R.s the NCR Rangers allied with? Or is that left up to our imaginations to make an ambiguous connection.

And no that 2 rangers are not allied with. Its not the same setting they dont even exist together.
But they share some similarities. Like being awesome
