The guy really seems thrilled about the game, and I think his opinion will reflect the opinion of all the nostalgic of hits like Baldur's Gate 1 (sorry, I largely preferred the first opus :P Just....I love playing a lvl 1 who runs in front of bunnies because he doesn't have any spell left :D).

Are there any spoilers in the video review? I would really like to watch it but don't want to get spoiled.

Ok this game does NOT deserve a 100/100 score. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, but there are a couple flaws. For example, the AI pathfinding isn't perfect. Sometimes during battle my NPC's just get stuck on each other and kind of vibrate cause they don't know to go around. That's just one example.

100/100?

That's 5/5. BIG difference!

Is it just me or does 5 stars not necessarily imply a perfect 100/100 score..?

5 out of 5 stars means it's a great game- but not without any flaws.

The review at Giant Bomb was positive, but doesn't give DA:O a "perfect" status.

the wait is going to be hard, luckily i have mass effect to complete in the mean time (never really played it before, even though i loved both BG games and also KOTOR)

And thus we find the problem with ANY review scoring system.

Keep in mind that Metacritic will make that 5 stars into 100/100.  It will also make 4 stars into 80/100, or an 8.0, which doesn't seem accurate either.

IGN gave GTA4 100/100. Again, another reason why review systems are so flawed.

Well, ignoring the score (I usually do anyway, for the reasons above), it was a pretty positive review.  I just wish it was friday already. :pinched:

Mostly combat and a few sentences taken out of context. I'd say it's perfectly safe to watch.

Wow, 100/100 is quite a lot...

I'm sure it's a 100/100 for me based on how much you get for the money. Take Crysis for example: Same price, a very high quality game and I've enjoyed every single minute of the 15 hours I've played it.

But, you know, it was just 15 hours. With Dragon Age I have an "unlimited" amount of playtime, just like BG2. I would still love to play BG2 nowadays, mods are still released left and right, it's just that I don't have the time I used to have.

With Dragon Age it will be the same: There will always be new mods and addons. I'm so going to love this game!

This is why the game will be a 100/100 for me. Not because it's perfect but just because I will always love playing it.

Every games has issues, clearly Giantbomb thought that they were insignificant compared to the overall awesomeness of the game.

Not even having played it or seen the review, yet, I'm kinda surprised at a perfect score. No bugs or glitches, nothing that could have been improved in the graphics or interface, nothing that could have been better at all? I find that hard to believe. I guess I haven't played the game that I would give "100/100" to.

They didn't get it a 100/100, they gave it a 5/5.

Well I was just going on what the OP said.  A scale of 100 means they can take into account some of the minor flaws, and thus this game could never be 100/100.  But on a scale of 5, this game deserves a 5.  5/5 is not inherently the same as 100/100.
