The internet was created at Stanford University in 1974, Tim Berners created The Web not the internet. They are not the same thing.

Sorry db, the internet based on HTML and Berner wrote HTML.

The Americans used other Data transfer procedures. It was a data transfering network but not the internet, sorry for that. And data transfering networks are older than 1974.

Thats the problem with guys like you, you think the american contrievs so much, but the real thing ist, that most of your technologies coming from old europe.

The Internet was originally designed for the US Government as a network to store tactical data and keep all branches of the military linked.

1.Saying the internet belongs to somone is just stupid. There are several componys providing and maniging the internet but it can't be owned since it's not a real thing, anyone with the technical knowhow could create a "part" of the internet, so no goverment could have real controle over it.
2.The financial crysis we're in right now allready started showing during the Bush-Administration, but they simple ignored it since there was a "war on terror" going on.(Which is btw bullsh*t)

That's wrong! Internet is not the same as the Web / HTML. Internet is a net of connected networks using standardised protocols. Web (HTTP) is, beside email (SMTP), the most popular protocol used in the internet. But it's not the most important protocol. Without routing and domain name system (DNS) neither web nor eamil would work.

If you don't believe me, you may want to take a look at Wikipedia.

Sorry for that, i wrote english is not my motherlanguage, the civil part of the Internet was founded at CERN (first browser and the WWW), the military/university part is older.

I hope now it is without missunderstanding ^^
