Good article, at least.  Now all we have to do is prove him wrong.

I thought Forbes were the good guys in all this.

Guess it's us against all the internets now. They're still going to lose but they can keep coming at us.

Love how so many hack journalists are attacking the fans for wanting nothing more than what they were promised...

It's easy to attack the fan base, it requires no courage and no real talent to spin such typically sycophantic nonsense...

Truth is, the fans of ME were not enough on their own for EA to win that award, they obviously pissed off alot of people for a long time with their business practices...

They're simply reporting on what someone said who works in the Tech industry. They're not putting it down as their opinion, total difference.

man that guy knows nothing about what he is talking about. How many uninformed people they have there? and anyway this is the first time i hear about this guy so i do not care and he should go back wherever he was hiding in.

LOL at the comment that Hollywood never changes movies after the fact.

I'm sure little shop of horrors didn't change its ending, or any movie for that matter. No, all those director cuts and alternate endings don't exist.

"I can’t think of anything that EA does that is bad enough to warrant this distinction.  They sell entertainment products that are better than the average, at competitive prices.”

Is it just me or does this look like EA's paying him to say this?

And after reading the rest of the article it becomes apparent he is yet another person who has no clue.

he's hilarious he doesn't want people to strive for better games because it would cost to much and everyone should settle for mediocrity. That's what's wrong with american business in general.
When you look at german car manufacturers they don't settle for mediocrity and they make insane profits their american counterparts are lucky to make a buck these days.

Michael Pachter is in league with many publishing giants, he doesn't give a damn really, he will say anything that will be good for his benefactors.

He is mostly a hack that just constantly spits out predictions about a products future, sometimes he gets it right, mostly wrong.

People put way too much stock in what he has to say, analysts like him are pointless.

it bothers me when people try to defend "artistic integrity" without playing the game. maybe pachter did play it, but for some reason i doubt it. we were told we wouldnt get an a, b, or c ending and we got an a, b, or c ending so i think people have a right to whine and complain.

I dont like that Michael Pachter guy. He always seemed like he knew everything and came across with an elitist attitude like he was better than us or something. Yeah I can make predictions and stuff too you know. What makes yours so great huh? The only person I do not like that shares the same name as me.

You have to consider, angry protesting "empowered" consumers can be a scary thing to people that make money by selling products (probably products they tend to cut corners around and try to hock off to unsuspecting buyers). So yeah, they will try to discredit the fanbase.

When what you previously precieved as sheep suddenly grow razor sharp claws (I know... sheep have hooves normally) and and fangs... you are going to try to 'kill' them before they start getting more ideas.

Michael Pachter is not a member of the Forbes team, they are just reporting what he says. Good, in my opinion. Some people are taking Forbes for granted, thinking they support Retake unanimously.

Not that it matters, Pachter is a well known arrogant dip**** who literally never knows what he's talking about when he delves into the video game industry. I'm glad he isn't supporting this, it would likely herald the movement's ultimate failure.

for the 10,000th time. Because Forbes is an actual publication with actual journalist (unlike game magazines which are just involved ads) they don't take specific lines on anything. instead they allow journalists, in this case contributing journalist. To outline sides based on research.

Do some people seriously think ME3 is the only reason EA was voted the worst company in America?

Pachter is a regular guest on GameTrailers. He also hosts a show on video games. Not sure if it's still on since I stopped watching a while back.

But yeah, Pachter isn't breaking any new grounds. I don't think he was ever particularly empathetic with gamers. Pachter once said on his show that he doesn't really play through all the games he gets (some for free), and has long been support of Nintendo's tactic of cornering the "casual market".

Posting this article is just like announcing "Santorum hates gay people" or something... Unless you're baiting trolls, you're not giving (or getting) any new insights.

Also, @Big Mac Heart Attack, I hope you're just kidding. Forbes isn't on anyone's side. Like any other publications they have journalists standing on either side of every issue. It is better that they are voicing opinion of both sides. Otherwise it would be biased.

"They treated their customers with respect, addressed the situation directly and promptly, and are offering free DLC to satisfy those who hated the ending. I shudder to think what will happen if gamers don’t like the new ending choices.”

stopped reading right there, he has no clue what he is talking about

also i doubt it was just me3 situation that cuased EA to win that award, i mean alot of us arnt even in america to vote on that thing
