You'll play the game for 5 years.... then you wake up one morning and realize your character is dead because Shepard used the Crucible.
When you'll ask Bioware why..... "Artistic Integrity B!atch"

God no.
Almost all MMORPG's are utter fail now they've become nothing but reskinned WoW clones.
No thanks.
You've been looking at the wrong MMOs then, there's plenty of variety out there.
Show me an MMO that isn't an endgame grindfest.
Right, because a grindfest instantly means WOW clone?

No. No. No. Oh heck no.
I don't want a Mass Effect MMO. They already have swtor so why more MMOs on their part?

Bioware has already proven that they can't do better than mediocre when it comes to MMOs -- see SW:TOR. It's got a few decent gimmicks but offers nothing revolutionary enough to make it truly memorable. The MMO market is oversaturated, anyway.
They could do a good multiplayer game that isn't Call of Warfare: Mass Effectfield 4, but it's totally not gonna happen.

I think Mass effect has too much potential with it's largely undiscoverd
universe and massive fanbase. Many fans have read the books and know
there is much more to mass effect than commander sheppard and shooting
geth.
The multiplayer option in ME3 was a nice addition to build
up galactic readyness and provide a break from the storyline. It was fun
to play with different species and classes and to experience the
difference between a vanguard and an engineer without having to play the
single player all over again.
But if you don't want ME to become
an MMO. Don't be discouraging from bioware from develloping one, simply
don't buy it! If you're having your hopes up for an ME4 instead of the
MMO then I understand why you wouldnt want to see bioware pour resources
and time into the MMO; but ME is a finished trilogy. And I'm praying
fans won't want to see ME be transformed into a multiplayer mindless
first person shooter. That's what Call of Duty and Battlefield are for.
Mass
effect has too much potential to be downgraded to a multiplayer
shooter, and I agree the trilogy should be left at where it is with
hopefully some DLC to give some more closure. Is sheppard dead? Why did
the Normandy leave without him? What happens to the romanced character?
Any thoughts?

MMO never...
ME has great singleplayer and only way for online content is secondary multiplayer (as Halo)
This can be good, if they finish it.

Well the problem with MMO's - even the successful ones - ist that at one point the devs will run outta ideas
And then you get PC-Pandas!

They already screwed SWU with ToR, so no, thanx.
First, MMO instakills any kind of non-linear plots and personalization, as it is supposed to last long-long, and any split makes two extra different lines to create. And what if I, let's say, picked Anderson,. and you - Undina? We live in different worlds, we can never go out together on a mission.. And what would be MEU without "personalization"? (Who said "ME3"- get out of this thread, lol! 8P) With respawning Harbingers TIMs and Kai Lengs?...
They could do something EVE-like, probably. Pure "sandbox", do what you wish. But that would barely include any story, as we knew it in ME1-2 (and somewhat 3), and it won't solve "personalization" problem.

The genre itself isn't much of an issue, especially if it's done well. An FPS with cinematic conversations could work as well as what we have, the only issue would be Bioware's lack of experience in designing FPS games. So even if it's an MMO, it could still be pretty good.
Though i say all this having never played an MMO, if there are any problems inherent to these type of games, I am blissfully unaware of them.

@Prosarian
Oh yess, problems. Can you imagine Citadel bar with 100 of both gender Sheps running around?, Wearing (mostly) same gear, slightly different in appearance and followed by exactly same squad members? You can't? Then take a look at SW:ToR fleet station one day. Dozen of smuggler ladies accompanied by same Mr Riggs (to which most of them are officially plot-wise married). Sooo good for immersion and for having "personal saga"....[/sarcasm]Though i say all this having never played an MMO, if there are any problems inherent to these type of games, I am blissfully unaware of them.

If there's going to be a sequel I doubt it'll be an mmo. I'm more scared they'll go with Robin Hoody's whole "the created will always rebel against their creators" in a sequel.

A mainstream tabtargeting themepark (which is the type of mmorpg which probably most of you ony know) would miserabily fail.
It wouldn't fit the ME IP, and would sink against the many opponents around (like it will happen to swtor soon).
A massive hardcore sandbox environment (think of EVE Online) with TPS combat would have much more potential to be awesome, and would be perfect for the ME universe.
Unfortunately it would require to be massive since the launch, it mean a looot of work, and wouldn't probably be a cash cow enough for EA.
In the end:
- A mainstream themepark: NO WAY
- An hardcore sandbox with TPS combat: would be probably awesome, but it'll never happen (however, sooner or later the industry will realize that mainstrem is already full... hopefully before blizzard itself realize that and eat all the sandbox market with their own sandbox mmorpg!)

No, I've got the old republic is I want an MMO. I understand that successful MMO's and multiplayer can bring a more or less stable revenue stream for a good long while but that's the route many developers have already taken in an effort to jump on the band wagon and be profitable. We're getting over saturated with the damned things just like modern warfare FPSs.

No. BioWare has an MMO; you don't divide your audience.
Or, in more classic terms, don't split the party.
Making a serious MMO require rougly 5 years of developement. So if they intend to make another MMO after TOR, starting to work on it now would be the thing to do.
Soon after they released AOC, Funcom started to dev The Secret World, and we can easly assume they will start to work on their new MMO in few month so it will be ready in 4-6 years.

Yes what we need another TOR with a Mass Effect skin... so tired of MMO's and not even one can make them... Something I sure Bioware has a very good understanding of for sure.

Why would EA let Bioware make another MMO after the completely disappointing, underwhelming, dull, bland, craptastic, below average, sub par, unremarkable, repetitive, flawed game that is known as Star Wars: The Old Republic?
