I didn't mean to spin them negatively, but I did definitely step over the line by suggesting he 'dropped hints' that he didn't like the ending. :( He was never anything less than a completely professional team member.

I feel really bad about disappointing him. He was so generous with his answers, and he really lifted my spirits. I should've done a better job.

Good way to make sure no Bioware employee talks to a fan again :wizard:

Yeah, this is exactly what I'm worried about. I feel terrible, I should've thought more about what I was doing when I hit 'post'. :(

Yes, you should have, but the damage is done.  I feel sorry for Patrick who will probably catch even more "flack" because he was misquoted.  (And frankly you should apologize to him if you haven't already done so.)

Hopefully this doesn't cost him his job or something, this is why most companies like only designated people talking with fans.

It shouldn't. If anything Bioware should be taking note about how to talk to their fans. This thread has been suprisingly free of partisanship and flames. Maybe it's becuase we don't think we are being lied to or being treated coyly just so we can have lots of speculation. A lot of this mess could have been avoided with some straight up talk.

Yea but she was still hot right?

Sheeesh.:D

ehhh... no, not really at all. leia is one of those things I just don't understand.

i guess 'geeks' in the 70s just had super low expectations of how hot a 'princess' needs to be, to be actually 'hot'.

i did think jennifer aniston looked hot in that costume in friends. then again she'd looked better.

ps. man you make this TOO easy.
pps. i m still dead serious about leia though.

You remember John Hammond's signature phrase from Jurassic Park?

"Spared no expense."

After reading his answers, Mass Effect 3 seems to be the polar opposite of that.

Instead of the dinosaurs we were promised... We arrived on the island and got Hammonds old flea circus. :P

Agreed! We absolutely need more friendly casual talk. Need need need! First time in a long time I feel like there's some hope or respect now. Get this to EA's pr guys and show them the positive effect this has!

my god. it's hideous.

someone end its misery.

babies are gross.

I bet it's poop is a nightmare of epic proportions.

even its poops probably have their own eyes that turn shark-black before they mind-rape you.

i rather look at the babies poop for 15 minutes than replay the craptastic ending.

You guys are heartless. Srsly.

Not to mention a little creepy...I would rather watch the endings again then watch babies poop for 15 minutes.  Just sayin.

Would you stop! Relax Weekes is a big boy he understands fans interpret. You people are disgusting. He didn't do it to sabatoge Weekes, he was excited about his chat. Stop this, this will not cost him his job. So stop being a ****** and move on. <_<

Yeah, don't get scared Battuta! As someone who's had pent up rage for weeks and weeks, I'm feeling relief now! I can't be the only one!

I hope that once you get past this feeling of sadness, you come back and realize what a good thing you've done here today.

If that is true, then it seems to imply that Shepard CAN control the reapers, or at least it was never planned for the reapers to disobey Shepard's command.

Control definitely seems the best ending now, shame shep dies but its the ultimate sacrifice.

I wish they'd define 'dies' how does shep control the reapers if she's completely dead, Ie no longer part of the living world.

If I get to end the game as a 3km tall cuttlefish with N7 painted on my hull and Harbinger as my ****... I'd 'die' happy.

So much win.

Also, I'm not into guys but I'd totally hump Weekes' leg right now.

a VERY good read. I have much more faith that the EC will be great having read this. Thank you Op for posting this and asking the questions we were all wondering. (well, most of them :P)

Hopefully, Patrick and the rest of the writers will have more pull on the EC as it would seem as though they had little to none over the original endgame....

'Negative spin'? These were by far the most positive comments I've seen from anyone connected to BioWare in the past month. This was the first time I felt any hope about the ending being improved.

I hope Weekes and Dombrow have a lot to say over the extended cut. They deserve all the acclaim they can get for what they did in ME3 (and maybe others, but Dombrow and Weekes are all I have confidence talking about)

I guess we all sit back and wait till summer to get enough information to decide the best ending, whether we take them at face value and how much more pain the angry one is in for. :D
