Sounds to me like EA have really been stifling Biowares time and budget... I dunno what they were thinking getting involved with that company, everyone knows EA are poison.

Read up for an explanation from other fans, tin foil hat optional! :innocent:=]

I really really hope they turn it around..somehow... I think it's really such a pity that this series ended the way it did...5 minutes from being immortalized as a masterpiece.....instead it's a cautionary tale... I really really hope the ending dlc will be awesome...lair of the shadow broker awesome.

So apparently these endings are actually not such downers, they just executed them so bad that it looks like we killed everything. Am I correct in this?

You are correct.

Presentation is key to making someone feel satisfyed, and bioware basically had a good desert for a great meal, triped on their own shoelaces, and sent that desert hurtling through the air and smacking the player right in the face.

Some can see this and say it was an accident and not biowares fault, other will be too pissed to care and they are right in doing so. Either way, bioware messed up and now their going to feel it in their tips and in their paycheck, probably for a long time.

Exactly why I'm trying not to be TOO negative about ending DLC.  what I'm most angry about is their PR shenanigans in the interveining weeks. Telling someone in grief that their anger or depression are just whining or their attempts at bargaining 'entitled' doesn't help the process play out gently.

Thank you for posting this!

Most of it makes sense to me except what he said about the Keepers interfering with the Reapers...? Uhm. Whoa.

I actually missed that. Perhaps my brain refused to acknowledge it on the basis that it might implode, seeing as it makes even you do a double take. :pinched:

I don't get it. This was explained by the Prothean VI on Ilos. The last Protheans changed how the keepers interacted with the citadel.

Well hopefully this is a turning point.

Most of it is only based on 'leaks' that were actually proactively removed and completely censored from the internet by someone.

Then again, nothing is ever permanently gone. ;p

Either way, I guess BSN is any place BUT for that sort of discussion. Let's just dwell on sweet Weekes and his reveals into what must be going through the heads of the writers right now.

muhahaha i will totally abuse this platform to plug my own thread. all that and my opinions regarding the interview is only a pargraph anyway. I don't see a reason to remove that unless enough people here feel opposed to it. I claim 'thread author's integrity'.

The title of the thread is "Unofficial Interview with Patrick Weekes conducted by a fan at Pax". not "Patrick's interview and what pikey1969 thinks about the endings and EA". You're using the interview to promote your own views on the endings, including your thread plug. And you even post your opinion even BEFORE the paraphrased interview which spins it even more. I don't want to see what you think about it quoted elsewhere and mistaken as a part of the interview or as an opinion of the person who actually conducted the interview and then spread further on the net creating even more confusion, more spinning and even potential problems for Patrick Weeks. So yeah, you already made one thread on your ending opinions to promote your view on it, I think it's enough, everyone can read it and agree.

still does not change the fact that most of their home worlds are BILLIONS of light years away

I should probably read the thread to see if this got corrected by someone else, but... FTL forums.

The Milky Way galaxy is 100,000 light years in diameter. Not billions.

Somebody needs to give Patrick a big hug if he's still in the BioWare room at PAX tomorrow.  Either that, or bring more questions if he's willing to talk again.

Hell, do both.  :D

Suddenly, an interview that makes me feel a whole lot better about ME3.

So why didn't they tell us all this weeks ago?

No idea, I don't think we need to though, going to be pretty hard to bury it even if it's locked, every news site will be putting extra ads on the page they do the article on. Sorry, I just completely made that last part up!

If we have to lock two more people in a room and they and only they are in control of the extended cut DLC, it should be Patrick Weekes and John Dombrow alone in an office, creating situations of epic proportions to redeem what we were given. Just saying....

Well good to see they're pretty much retconning all the things that would make the ending bad.

Arrival DLC shows supernova when Relays destroyed: Not this time, we'll use space magic/an idea that has never been shown in the series before

Starvation: Oh ummm, ships can move super super fast and fuel is no longer needed....ME relays were just for the lolz of intergalactic travel and not important

Actually I think that synthesis is quite bad, from the bad it is shoved in our faces as the best ending to the utterly unscientific nature of blending synthetic with organic.

Look, even if this is paraphrased, it pretty much confirms that BioWare rushed this game, and a LOT of vital content was left out. -sigh-

Weekes, can you please take over for Mac? Because you seem to actually realize what should've been in the game.
