Seriously, you had to drive a dev away?

You people are shooting yourselves in the ****ing foot. WOW.

I've been on the edge of it... but now I'm actually ashamed of being a ME fan with you ****s.

You DESERVE to be ignored now.

Stop it man, your being a jerk right now.

I never attacked him, Gamble is a great guy.

However, I am being a consumer.

Your accusing the company he works for of flase advertising in one of the first times we've had any sort of communication fron him in the last 3 hours or so, that's being pretty rude.

Because they did falsly advertise their product?

Did you even read that thread, please tell me you did?

@ Mike Gamble

Would there be anything you can tell us about Shepard breathing at the end of the destroy ending?

Done by a fan, answers given by a man in the writing team, no pr people in sight.
Paints a pretty clear picture what is the other issue bioware is having besides the ending.

You know, most of us in game development would love to have all the time in the world to make our games

Perhaps you should apply for a job at Blizzard. They seem at least capable of taking the time until everything is solid and refined instead of pushing your limits just because EA has to please some stakeholders.

No offense,

Just a heads up, you paid for a Mass Effect game created by Bioware, not a magical disc of happiness. You're right though, as a consumer you do indeed have the right to criticize and comment on the content of your purchase. You do not, however, have the right to demand a product other than what you paid for, which is in fact what you are doing. If you order food at a restaurant, and you aren't satisfied, can you dine and dash? Of course you can, but you shouldn't be surprised then if people think you're a dick.

It's like you don't want BioWare to speak with us. A dozen threads asking BioWare questions, and when the developers begin to answer, you berate them and the game they made for you. Despicable, IMO, as it drives the developers away and actually furthers the cause of us getting answers to our questions from them.

Wow really?

Do I even need to point out that this wasn't the product I paid for? Excuse me for not tiptoeing around EA and Bioware's circular logic.

We're with you, but be civil man. We want a dialogue, not a monologue.

I agree - I hate the endings and all, but come on guys, let's not get into personal attacks with the developers.

Developers should grow a thicker skin, probably over several hundred people are posting in this thread to expect every single one of them to act in a respectable manner especially given the high amount of people upset with the endings is equally idiotic.

Enough with the "they just need to grow a thicker skin!"

You grow a thicker skin when someone is teasing you for no reason. However, when you're trying to engage with fans in a positive way and all you get is "SHUDDUP BIOWARE YOU BE TROLLIN'!" you're perfectly within you're right to pack your bags and leave.

Seriously, the retake movement needs to grow up and not act like such dicks. We've done the impossible, but rather than going "Holy Crap I can't believe we won! Let's cool down for a bit and take stock." everyone's suddenly becoming the entitled fanboys everyone thought we were. It's incredibly depressing.

Right, and you are totally going to show how to make a better product with a BioWare troll face image. Don't hide behind the "customer" excuse - that kind of behavior is uncalled for, especially considering he is trying to talk to us. He isn't a corporate executive, he is an actual human being who is been working on this project for a long time. Gamble is not EA, and I guarantee he has seen the polls and threads you've posted here. He's listening. Be respectful.

You know, most of us in game development would love to have all the time in the world to make our games, but that doesn't mean we put something out that we don't believe is quality.

As for some of this specifics of the questions...

Of course joker wouldn't abandon Shepard for no reason, and yes - let's not underestimate FTL here :) let's also not forget about quantum communication...or the incredible store of food rations that the Normandy has.

Cmon - give us some time with the DLC, and let's try to avoid hatin' on Patrick or Jessica:P

Oh great... so they do really crash on some planet ... with my LI and best buddy. Great.

Mr. Gamble, If your still watching this thread, would you be open to a private message Q&A, the questions would be sent to you and all you'd need to do is answer, you don't even need to answer the questions you don't want to or can't, but at the moment any interaction with anyone related to mass effect 3 would be well appreciate.

Please consider and thank you for your time.

Mr. Gamble, a quick OT: when can we (community) talk with you (devs/staff in general) about the endings? A simple Q&A, nothing more, nothing less. We're literally fumbling in the dark.

Horrible example, if I order a steak well done and they bring it out to me Medium rare I can send it back and tell them to cook it properly.

I'm hoping to be proved wrong, but I feel at this point that the EC is only going to address part of the problem with this ending (The lack of clarity and some plot issues) while avoiding another problem (The lack of choice)

AND the lack of plausibility of the synthesis ending. An energy wave propagating through the universe, turning every organic and synthetic into an organic/synthetic hybrid?

HOW? How does a wave of ill-defined "energy" (what form of energy? does this energy have structure?) carry the impossibly complex wealth of information necessary to make the changes in all the variety of organic and synthetic life in the universe?

When the wave meets, say, your average banana plant, where does the synthetic material to make it half synthetic come from, and how is this synthetic material, in practice, incorporated into the genetic and cellular structure of the banana plant to make the cyborg banana?

And the same with synthetics, that don't even have cellular structure and genes - when the wave meets a Geth, what actually happens? How does the energy wave conjure up organic, living material, that is somehow compatible with the Geth synthetic architecture, and then how is it incorporated into that structure?

What about, say, toaster ovens. Do toaster ovens count as "synthetics", and how does the wave differentiate between a toaster oven and a geth? What about computers? Or VIs? How does the wave "judge" which synthetic items should be convereted, and which should be left as is?

There simply is no way that sounds remotely plausible to answer these questions, because the synthesis option is a FANTASY solution, not a science fiction solution. It is *magic*.

This is what's become perhaps my major annoyance with the endings we got, and I don't see how you can drag it back into being science fiction with any explanation, no matter how creative. I HOPE I'm wrong, and Bioware flex their true writing muscles in explaining this away.

Right, because a guy who is fighting for his consumer rights after being blatantly lied to is a troll.

Seems legit. Well, I'm out of this thread. Weekes did a freaking wonderful thing, and now we have people overseeing that and turing this into a "BIOWARE BE LISTENING NOW!" thread.

No, they are not listening, what Weekes did was on his own volition.

I didn't use "artistic integrity" excuse. As the rest of my post explains, which conveniently has been omitted from your reply, I said you should treat the developers who have taken time to talk to us with respect.

Idiotic post, when addressing hundreds if not thousands of people some will act rude. Watch any sort of political speech or event there is always a few ****s attacking the candidate. However Obama/Romney whomever does not simply get up and leave the event. Because they understand the actions of the few does not reflect the whole.

Blizzard is Blizzard. They have ridiculous amounts of money (though they did have some layoffs recently; TOR apparently put an actual dent in their WoW money, which hardly ever happens). Great place to work, by all accounts, by the way. If you live around Irvine, they're always looking for testers there.

But yeah, Blizzard gets to take infinite time to do everything they want because they have functionally infinite money and don't usually have anyone else looking over their shoulders. It's not so much a matter of having more passion or skill than other devs, just more power and independence.
