Posting this here too, in case Gamble comes back.

The image I posted was uncalled for, true and true. I'm not a troll and I'm not anyone who wishes to berate anyone here, if you look at my previous posts I'm always kind and respectful to anyone and everyone. Today was not a better moment for me, and I hope we can be cordial and friends again.

I not only "appreciate" your work and game but attribute it to my inspiration in becoming a Science Fiction Literature graduate from UCSD. The story, characters and universe took an already solidified passion of mine and made it into a career.

I care about the franchise more than most, I'll say that. I care about Bioware, they are the best dev on the planet and I defended this studio during DA2, which I thought was an outstanding game. I love you guys, I love Mass Effect and I love everyone who poured their hearts into this game. All I want is to be able to experience what I was promised, and what I know Mass Effect as an outstanding trilogy deserves.

I really do love you guys, and thanks for a wonderful universe like Mass Effect.

I hope we can be friends, I am very sorry...

Those are good words, and looking at that thread link shows what a big investment you've had in the series.

It's just, boy, I really wish you'd posted something like that rather than trollface a dev. I guess you do too.

Do we really need to turn this tread into a rage fest? there are enough of those here already...

Good grief, I'm quoting someone with one of those banners... (tongue in cheek, don't kill me)

Once i learn how to make a Bolin (character in my avatar) banner i will change my sig, promise :P

I won't lie, I find those banners to be borderline trolling (aikes, I used the T word!). It also doesn't help the "holier than thou" aura that eminates from a lot of "pro-enders." (Yeah, I use quotes all the time...I don't want to slap labels on people. XD)

Oy, tiptoeing around the politics of the forum. So much fun...

It really sounds like in the areas where they don goofed was because of time constraints.

It was just something making fun of BioWare. But he apologized, on the Internet, and I'd say that deserves a clean slate.

I'm willing to bet Mike has better things to do on Easter Sunday.

Anyone feel like coming up with a list of questions to ask gamble, just so we actually have some form of organization, or maybe just to help pass the time?

Mike Gamble,

I hear that Fernando said he was better than you because he got the entire cast of DA2 to return for both their DLC expansions.

Are you going to let him get away with that?

I myself am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and see what they come up with.  I will go destroy ending because that is what feels right, and I play a Paragon shep.

Hey I'm all for anything now since I finally beat the game and I don't know what the [censored] was going on. I'm fine with waiting a few months for an update. I mean, think about how long we had to wait through all the delays to get Deus Ex: Invisible War...

There is no point in fighting ourselves now, just remember to mind how you speak with mods/devs who come here to talk to us in the future.

Mike will probably be back or is still reading this tread right now, so lets continue giving ideas of what we want in the dlc, arguing over silly things wont help anyone, but giving Bioware more good ideas for the dlc will...

So pretty much, Bioware was rushed.

Then why throw out the ending they had planned since day one?

It wasn't planned, it was being considered (and not from day one), if you're talking about dark energy.

That's how creativity and writing work. Sometimes, you have what looks like a great idea but the more you think about it, the less you're able to develop it properly. And then you drop it. That's apparently what happened to Dark Energy. We've heard about this one, but, let's face it, there are dozens of stories and themes that were abandoned in the writing room after a few rounds of discussions.

Karpyshyn, who had the idea of dark energy and who might have used it as a key element for ME3, had he stayed in the team, admits that nothing is ever written in stone. For instance, Cerberus was mostly anecdotic in ME1 and they hadn't really fleshed out the role of this vague organization. Then, it became pivotal to both ME2 and ME3.

Dark energy was one idea that was killed after a while, after one occurence in ME2. I wouldn't say it's a big deal. The lackluster and cold finale on the Citadel is a big deal.

I think people are underestimating FTL in the ME universe. Certainly the mass relays are the best way to travel bar none but FTL is no slouch either. It takes you between stars in a negligible amount of time. We don't know how good it is but it was good enough that the Protheans managed to fight a war for centuries using nothing but unaided FTL.

Also I really wish people would stop saying that it's a "vocal minority" who are unhappy with the ending, it's such a ... frustratingly ... insulting and smug phrase.

Edit: ^ Absoutley (well that's not my only problem but that's not what this thread is for really). I think I'd have rather have had that end than the one we got. It fit so damn well for one thing.

Just look at all the things and dialogue from ME1 & 2 that would have made so much sense if the Dark Engergy thing had been real.

Heastrom's star
That which you know as reapers are your salvation through destruction.
It began with us, it will end with you. (a line of (possibly unused) Harbinger dialogue)
The Human Reaper would have actually made a lot of sense
etc. etc.

Yes, agreed. I'm hanging in there too, and appreciate all that BW has done (despite some criticisms and reservations). I'm looking forward...

I am looking forward to seeing what this adds and if it changes my reaction compared to the first time. Not the mental 'what happened?' bit of the reaction, but the 'Ok, so I've just finished Mulholland Drive.' bit.

Funny.. Bioware confirmed my first thoughts I got after finishing the game. Advanced Reaper tech FTL, quantum entanglement communicators etc.. I was said to stop speculating because everything was a dream. Now this made me feel good :)

It was the straw that broke the camel's back. If there hadn't been a few other people who had greeted him with sarcasm and accusations, Gamble might not have been offended that much by the picture.

Can we just drop the whole thing about what I posted?

Yes, it was wrong and I dun goofed. I apologized and hope he comes back, to which I will be very grateful and honored.

Dwelling on one stupid thing I did in my entire two years here on BSN isn't helping anything.

It also was in response to him hoping we liked resurgance, and than this happened.

[Redactied upon request, your going to need to look back into the post to page...54 or so, to see it.]

You can't expect EVERYONE to just act like a boy scout and worship you when you walk in, and you certaintly can't expect people who no longer trust you to worship you either. A little sarcasm and accusations is to be expected. I think Bioware's definition of Constructive Criticism is a lot different than the real thing.
