Anyone could have written a better ending. Drew was lead on ME1. Need I say more?

Bet he would. In his sleep.

I don't know about better, but it would have likely been made sense in the series as a whole, rather than in the last 15 minutes changing the entire tone of the trilogy.
We didn't need "art" for the ending, we just needed an ending that followed the series, rather than some writer(s) thinking they needed to make a mark for themselves and toss in this really cool twist ending. Somewhere along the way, someone decided this was the time to put his personal stamp on the game, to make it HIS.
Do that with a cool new character or something, you don't do that in the last 15 minutes, that wraps up a 5 year long trilogy.

Given enough time we could have seen a better ending.

I think he could of. As soon as he left the novels got bad and the game went down the crapper. It might not have been perfect but it would have at least matched what came before.

Drew's just being a class act. He would made ME3 awesome.

No, I think EA ordered the ending done this way so that they could continue work on a sequel already in progress.

Honestly, the Dark Energy ending makes a lot more sense. Even the kinks in it could have been easily hammered out with a couple of rewrites to make it more cohesive.
Seriously, did no-one bother to proof-read the Starchild endings?

Yes, but he's too much of a pro to admit it.

You can't assume things like this, but in this case, Drew's ending would've most likely been better. I say that because of how god awful the ending is in ME3, that it would be so easy to top it. Maybe Drew's ending would've pissed people off, but probably not as much as the ending we have now.

Are you kidding? The current ending can't possibly be worse without being completely absurd.

A circus seal left alone with a typewriter could produce a "better" ending because at least gibberish wouldn't outright destroy the central themes of the series.

This could be part of why he isn't with Bioware anymore.

I actually wouldn't mind if Drew came up with a new ending right now on the spot.
Cause it sure as hell couldn't be as bad as what we already got.

Stephenie Meyer would have written a better ending...
...okay maybe that's going a bit far, but it couldn't be that much worse!
