he definitely has a good handle on it. I'm surprised not more people are pointing at this video as the go-to for everything that was wrong with the ending. but then again you can't blame people for not putting up with it because it's an hour long (short attention spans and all that.)

He raised a lot of good points Bioware, definitely worth seeing.

And he does it in a way that isn't an attack, which is all the better.

Yep great video detailing why the ending doesn't "work" rather than just "it sucks" (which it does)

His video on EA is good as well.

Wow I was going to say this vid has been floating around for a while now, but looks like posting it again does have its benefits

If you like it please show it to you coworkers. We love bioware and mass effect and simply want what is best for both.

I'm curious.  How have you not seen this video linked to, posted about and talked about until now?  It's been around since March 27th.  This is one of the primary videos pointing out the flaws of the ending.

Dude, chill.

Nothing to chill about.  I was asking a simple question.  I wasn't being rude, I wasn't being confrontational.

Probably the same way I haven't.

Darn the both of us for not being here 24/7 and reading every thread, how dare we!

Except you're a customer, not a moderator for the forums.  I wouldn't expect someone that just registered on the forums tonight to know about it, either.  But, I've admitted that I don't pay attention to the posting habits of the mods.

Yeah, this has been around for a while. About 4 threads have already posted this. I find it hilarious how FTL these forums are that they get buried so quickly. FTL forums are FTL.

Yeah, nothing about moderating involves reading every single thread. You don't even know if he's an actual moderator or just has BW status.

It starts out as a simple question, then we get threads complaining about bioware ignoring fans or the forums or both etc. Let them comment without jumping on them for once

I believe he works only on the Dragon Age team.

So he has nothing to do with anything related to Mass Effect, except maybe working in the same building.

This!

I added a sig just so I don't need to elaborate that I am not a part of the ME team and speak as a fan of the ME franchise, rather than in any sort of "official" capacity.  So no, I am not up to speed on ME3 related decisions since it's not something I need to bother with on a day-to-day work schedule.  Having said that, I think everyone at work is following the ME3 ending situation on some level just because it's hard not to.

I have been hesitant to post, probably mostly because most of my posting history is from DAO/2 Tech support and no one goes to tech support to tell me how much they love talking with me.  Although how could they say that about my Mom! :crying:

Anyways, the discourse in the other thread as interesting, and I can't sleep right now, so I thought I'd chime in.  When I'm done the video I'll make comments on it.  The discourse was pleasant though so thanks for letting me discuss it, even if we had different opinions on it.

Here's the thread in case anyone is interested: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/11146046/4
Started as a discussion of whether or not Legion's sacrifice was meaningless in the destroy ending.

This is a very well done video and really should be a "required" watch for the bioware ME3 folks!

Watched the EA video. So does this mean that EA ≤ Reapers in the sense that they, and companies like them, will eventually destroy all gaming; and indie will rebuild gaming from the ashes like a huge master reset switch?

I'm not sure if you are allowed to comment on this, but is the ME3 team strongly discouraged from interacting with us directly right now? Honestly, I feel like if we could just have a few key choices (Starchild .. literally color coded endings.. no epilogue in intial package) clarified, in an honest non PR speak manner, it would make quite a few people feel better about this fiasco.

I just find it incredibly hard to believe that such a talented team didn't seem to notice the crescendo of their masterpiece just flat out did not work.. since you are watching that video, it really sums up how I feel almost perfectly.

Mass effect is n't a game worth getting into anymore.
I restarted DA:O for the 4 time yesterday. DAO got em ALL right. Flawless game.
I visit these forums everyday because i hope somehow ME will be redeemed and somehow i ll be able to even insert the game disc again. it is that bad. I loved mass effect but that ending seriously  made me feel awful .
and i am NOT the only one in here that feels the exact same way.

This is one of the fastest moving forums around, if not the fastest.
Forget FTL this basically the Normandy passing through a mass relay.

first time im seeing this... and thinking about what he talks about, it kinda explains why i feel the way i do.

at first i was baffled by the hatred for the ending.

sure, it wasnt how i would have ended the series, not by a long shot, but it didn't instill a total hatred in me (i still enjoy the first two games, and hell, i dont' even mind replaying ME3).

i just accepted the ending, didn't like, nor dislike it... least not until i started noticing the plotholes and whatnot.

but still... i didn't hate it like others, and don't.

i think the reason for that might be because im a fan of both the star wars type genre and the star trek type genre.

so...  i spent the majority of mass effect playing a genre i liked, but the sudden swap to a completely different genre at the end of the trilogy didn't really bother me because it was a swap to a genre i like.

the ending persay doesn't bother me (even the starchild scene, in and of itself, doesn't bother me much)... and now i think i understand why that is.  the only thing that bothers me about the ending is the total disconnect it has with the rest of the series.

Thanks for dropping by, Mr. Schumacher, it's always nice to see someone from BW participating in the discussions.

Having said that, if you think any points made in the video is valid, can you please talk to someone on the ME team about it?
I think it goes without saying that the reception of any future Dragon Age game (or any future Bioware game for that matter) will be affected by how the ME situation is resolved.
SWTOR subscribers are already cancelling because it's one of the few options they have to voice their dissent.
The ME fiasco (please allow me the use of the word) reflects badly on the entirety of BW as a company.
Whether or not that is fair is debatable, but the DA series will no doubt suffer due to no fault on the part of the DA team.

I am sorry for any negative comments made about your mother by angry customers in the past. It was not appropriate.
The cycle will repeat itself however, if this is not handled well, and this time the ire will also be aimed at the DA team.
I sincerely hope that, if you share any of our concerns, you will talk to someone about it, please.

Very good video.
I really like the part on narrative coherence around the 23rd minute.
