Very well put. I'm not a fan of the DA series (though i couldn't explain why. i still haven't figured out what didn't grab me about it), but don't mistake that for disliking it. That being the case, I wouldn't have bought another DA game, most likely. But that wouldn't have stopped me from picking up other BW games.avatar0 wrote...
Thanks for dropping by, Mr. Schumacher, it's always nice to see someone from BW participating in the discussions.
Having said that, if you think any points made in the video is valid, can you please talk to someone on the ME team about it?
I think it goes without saying that the reception of any future Dragon Age game (or any future Bioware game for that matter) will be affected by how the ME situation is resolved.
SWTOR subscribers are already cancelling because it's one of the few options they have to voice their dissent.
The ME fiasco (please allow me the use of the word) reflects badly on the entirety of BW as a company.
Whether or not that is fair is debatable, but the DA series will no doubt suffer due to no fault on the part of the DA team.
I am sorry for any negative comments made about your mother by angry customers in the past. It was not appropriate.
The cycle will repeat itself however, if this is not handled well, and this time the ire will also be aimed at the DA team.
I sincerely hope that, if you share any of our concerns, you will talk to someone about it, please.
However, the way this whole mess has been handled, from the lies post-gold/pre-launch to the defense of a clearly out of place ending to the absolute contradictions that have been made between in game information and post-ME3 PAX interviews and panels... All of that mess together has destroyed my respect for the company that awed me with Mass Effect. ME1 is the reason I bought DA:O. Jade Empire is the reason I bought ME1. So it's harsh blow to see the company that I've come to love so much suddenly turn into Bizarro BioWare.

And this without flaming or telling how it ****, just why it's not working.
Keep civil and they listen.
Start to rant and flame and they probably will not even look at the post.
Keep it up lads !

I'm curious. How have you not seen this video linked to, posted about and talked about until now? It's been around since March 27th. This is one of the primary videos pointing out the flaws of the ending.Allan Schumacher wrote...

The beginning to the new one was glorious. They did this? Cars crashing. They did that? More cars crashing on those crashed cars. Laughed a lot, and that ravaged my sore throat. But it was all worth it.Yougottawanna wrote...

I'm not sure if you are allowed to comment on this, but is the ME3 team strongly discouraged from interacting with us directly right now? Honestly, I feel like if we could just have a few key choices (Starchild .. literally color coded endings.. no epilogue in intial package) clarified, in an honest non PR speak manner, it would make quite a few people feel better about this fiasco.
I just find it incredibly hard to believe that such a talented team didn't seem to notice the crescendo of their masterpiece just flat out did not work.. since you are watching that video, it really sums up how I feel almost perfectly.
I can't speak on behalf of the ME team. I'm not speaking here in an "official" capacity (although I do recognize that having BioWare on my name does make people pay attention). Some have expressed concern that I may get in trouble, though I'm not worried about that. It's probably a bit easier for me to speak because I'm not a part of a the project and am speaking just as a fellow fan. In fact, I actively toned out of ME updates in studio meetings because I didn't want spoilers lol. So I can't say what causes someone to post here or not. I mostly was just bored... >.> hehe
I can say, from personal experience on DAO and DA2, working on something and seeing outcry for it can be difficult, even if I agree with the particular point going across. Granted maybe in some level we need to deal with it based on our career choice, but I'm still human and if I make a post and it happens to get a snarky reply, it can be easier to just step out of the conversation. I'm not even on the ME team and I was worried about stepping on a landmine haha. Fortunately it's been a pleasant experience, so kudos on all that I've interacted with today and thanks for keeping it civil.
I should also point out that, as mentioned in the other thread, while I do feel the ending is a let down compared to the rest of the story, I actually don't mind it. So right off the top there's going to be aspects that I disagree with. But there will be some I do agree with, and I'm open to having conversation about it from one ME fan to another.

I just kind of assume that the people in the ME team check out the forums from time to time, but don't participate. If I were in their position, it would seem inconceivable not to check out the primary tool for feedback from time to time.

To mr. Schumacher, even though you're not representing the Mass Effect team, it's refreshing to see someone from Bioware that's not in the PR department. I have to say I thought all you guys were partying somewhere for the last couple of weeks and had no idea what was going on lol
Oh and of course, Hold The Line!

I have to say, the "showing more detail of the nightmare pileup of brutal crashes" sequence was inspired as an analogy of "clarification."
Is that Blue Brothers?

On the one hand these forums have been waaaaaaay emotional this past month. On the other hand alot of that emotion was driven by the poor communications between the devs and the fanbase.
In any case, the agreement is that we take what Allen Schumacher says as a fan, rather than a bioware representative.
