I'm not sure if you are allowed to comment on this, but is the ME3 team strongly discouraged from interacting with us directly right now? Honestly, I feel like if we could just have a few key choices (Starchild .. literally color coded endings.. no epilogue in intial package) clarified, in an honest non PR speak manner, it would make quite a few people feel better about this fiasco.
I just find it incredibly hard to believe that such a talented team didn't seem to notice the crescendo of their masterpiece just flat out did not work.. since you are watching that video, it really sums up how I feel almost perfectly.
I can't speak on behalf of the ME team. I'm not speaking here in an "official" capacity (although I do recognize that having BioWare on my name does make people pay attention). Some have expressed concern that I may get in trouble, though I'm not worried about that. It's probably a bit easier for me to speak because I'm not a part of a the project and am speaking just as a fellow fan. In fact, I actively toned out of ME updates in studio meetings because I didn't want spoilers lol. So I can't say what causes someone to post here or not. I mostly was just bored... >.> hehe
I can say, from personal experience on DAO and DA2, working on something and seeing outcry for it can be difficult, even if I agree with the particular point going across. Granted maybe in some level we need to deal with it based on our career choice, but I'm still human and if I make a post and it happens to get a snarky reply, it can be easier to just step out of the conversation. I'm not even on the ME team and I was worried about stepping on a landmine haha. Fortunately it's been a pleasant experience, so kudos on all that I've interacted with today and thanks for keeping it civil.
I should also point out that, as mentioned in the other thread, while I do feel the ending is a let down compared to the rest of the story, I actually don't mind it. So right off the top there's going to be aspects that I disagree with. But there will be some I do agree with, and I'm open to having conversation about it from one ME fan to another.
I'm just happy that you're having a chat with us about the game, I was just getting tired of the PR robot talk. Kudos to you!!
Wow..I think every Fan and Bioware employee should study this!

after seeing mike gamble on the youtube vid at pax, explaining about how they will make a good job of the ending dlc i was kinda initially happy, but now seeing this it makes it all too obvious how we are getting railroaded into accepting the unacceptable.

Nothing left to do but wait and see how it all plays out.

however i must confess im kind of happy with them at least doing the XE (extended ending, trying to coin a phrase) dlc.....i wasnt expecting bioware to do anything, and assuming for the moment that the writing in the XE will be on par with tuchanka or the previous games, ill be able to overlook the ABYSSMAL writing there. there are other examples in the game where i felt like the writing went down the drain and i was able to overlook it for the moment. e.g. first "boss fight" against kai leng, i really didnt feel as though he beat me, i was just pissed and annoyed, forcing my shepard into the whiny phase seemed kind of forced. not to mention that the villains in this installment REALLY disappoint in general. but i digress.
point is this: the game in general is not as good as its made out to be, but im willing to overlook that for a better (not happier, better, although happier would be nice too) ending with an epilogue.
the whole starchild deal really is not the first bad thing they did in that game, its just the worst, and even that i might be able to overlook given a good enough XE.

I know you aren't part of the ME team but let me just say that it is a welcome change to have SOMEBODY from Bioware actually engage in talking with fans. Even if it is just as another fan of the series
That said, I'll keep your actions in mind when DA3 comes out lol. I loved origins and somehow skipped DA2 (not sure how, probably just never got around to it with lack of cash).
I'm sure I'll have fun as a mage, I always liked charachters who generally wouldn't feel accepted in their story/world. Yet making a big difference and being a hero to crash those prejudices into the ground...Its part of the reason I play Adept Shepard, and played a Mage in DA:O.

Part way through, but kind of summarizes why I don't expect to like the ending DLC. While I don't care about the whole 'art' arguement, he does talk about way fans will not like the ending DLC based upon what the FAQ states it will be.

They are already working on the extended cut. Voice actors are doing their job, level designers are already busy and storywriters are done. Do you really think they announce something before they work on it ? Made my day

I don't have a problem with his 39 minute video... it was a very intelligent analysis. I do take issue with his treatment of indoctrination which is not in any sense of the word a failure.
Read the video comments. He says it came off as more demeaning than he intended

oh god when you mentioned 39 minutes long. I don't even bother. Can someone else juist post a summary to the video please.
Everything mentioned in the video has already been posted a billion times on these forums ( regarding the ending). Just a way less whiney and way more constructive.
