Two points.  1, my Shepard's female and still got the scene you mean.  2, I figure Liara's gift is jut a few moments of peace before the storm of the final battle.

Asari can have sexorz with women and maybe Soldiers just thougt: "HEEEELL YEAH! SOME LEZZY ON LEZZY ACTION!

I think so too.

Except there is different dialogue for a Shepard who isn't romancing her, even if a lot of people don't seem to get it.

That annoyed me endlessly. However, in my experience, I can avoid that line of dialogue, if I during the conversation with Liara (just prior to conversation with Aethyta) pick the renegade option. Something about being glad that she's doing something practical, instead of urging her to take "personal moments"/R&R time. For me that shifts the convo with her father back to friend-zone.

I had no current romance when Liara and Aethyta were talking.

They never talked about us being together, only that we look at each other and her panties catch on fire.

Dialogue was fine for me.

Didn't romance her in ME 1 either.

Welcome to the wonderful world of ninja-mancing, where everyone is forced to romance the same character because she's the Creators' Pet.

Having said that, I didn't get that line. But then, I always pick the lower options with Liara. I know why I do.

Just because YOU haven't romanced Liara, doesn't necessarily mean that Liara doesn't have a thing for you. As a matriarch she can probably spot that Liara is in love with Shepard even if its not a two way avenue.

So, yeah... I don't have a problem with that line. It seems perfectly in place.

No Liara romance in ME 1 or 2 and this is the dialogue she had. (That's as close as I can remember that specific line)

Nothing was ever said to indicate that we were together.

I actually did romance her in ME1, then quickied Jack in ME2 (which does not import as an actual romance) but broke up with Liara in ME3 to finally hook up with Ashley...loved her in ME1 but didn't know she was an option. Bland in ME3 but whatever.

I don't believe she called me Liara's boyfriend, even though I DID romance Liara in ME1. Maybe because I broke up with her in ME3?
