Why wouldn't you hit that?

I started my ME journey in 2, in which Liara is a total cold *censored* to you. When I played ME(1) I saw her as she's meant to be, but I still prefer Tali. I actually had to be exceedingly precise in my ME playthrough to romance NO-ONE at all so my ME to ME3 total adventure would be pure Tali <3

But, yes, I do hope this is just a case of her opinion and not the game fitting to what it THINKS my relationship status is... you're a good friend Liara, and that's all. Please, stay away!

Liara go'n Rape you.

Funny, I think she did just before the last battle... :(

I feel so violated...

Too bad none of the soldier's came to Shepard's rescue.

Maybe... they thought that men can't be raped!.. :o

Two points.  1, my Shepard's female and still got the scene you mean.  2, I figure Liara's gift is jut a few moments of peace before the storm of the final battle.

Yep, I know females get it too. So what? :)
Asari can have sexorz with women and maybe Soldiers just thougt: "HEEEELL YEAH! SOME LEZZY ON LEZZY ACTION!

And she totaly mindraped Shepard! TOTALY!

Point 1 was a response to the comment 'Maybe... they thought that men can't be raped!..'  (Yes, I know men can be raped I didn't write that as I thought that came across in the post)

As to Liara 'mindraping' Shepard.  Prove it.  The scene is a peacefull one, before the final battle.  Prove, using cannonical sources, that anything else at all happened there.

It's a joke... but how does Shepard know when it's sexorz and when it's just a mind sharing? :D

I'm sorry if my post seemed confrontational.  I've seen enough people claiming it as fact that I may have been a bit harsh.

As to your question.  I would only be guessing, but because Shepard knows Liara's got a sense of morality maybe?  I don't know.  Maybe it feels different to her/him.

The char I played through with romanced Ashley in ME1, Jack in ME2 and was sticking with Jack and she said that. I just figured, "Yea yea .. she's around 1000 .. she's gettin' senile ... etc." Then she gives me the threatening crap and I've had about enough so I do the Renegade interrupt thinking I'm gonna tell her where to stick it, remind her that she may have been around 1000 years but I've been killing crap thats been around millions of years, etc.

What do I do? I growl at her, 'No one's hurting my girl!" Wait .. what?

Yea .. bug.

As I said in another post, some people adamantly claim that more happened in that scene.  If something gets released that proves it does, then I will change my opinion.  Untill then, I'm justified in asking for evidence.

Don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure that didn't happen.

Liara has always been pretty open about what she does with Shepard.

Chrissake, listen to the ambient banter between the two after you coerce Liara into speaking to Aethyta.

Aethyta is one of "those" parents. You know the type, "s/he's nice, why don't you go out with them?". Aethyta assumes that based upon what she knows, there's something going on between Shepard and Liara, even if they're in denial about it or don't notice it.

It's not a plothole, and it's not a bug. It's characterization.

I heard it, then reloaded and prevented that from happening, thus sparing Liara's feelings. And that was the Renegade option...

Then why does Shepard respond with some crap about "..my girl..". It is a bug.

I don't want to start a fight, but I simply would like to point out with all respect that this segment in question is open to interpretation. What one gets from it is one's own opinion. Someone could just as easily say 'prove that it did not happen' and be fully justified. As I said, it is an opinion though, just to stress that, because I definitely don't want to fight about something like this.

That's also an interrupt. A renegade interrupt. You know, the ones that are generally purely emotional? That's done in response to Liara's own father making a veiled threat against her life?

Maybe, if'n you want to play it that way, Shepard doth protest too much even if s/he romanced someone else or no one at all. Or maybe Shepard considers Liara a good enough friend or feels protective enough of her to refer to her such. Either way, if Shepard (or you as the player) don't care enough to be bothered by Aethyta speaking frankly about the asari matriarchs, don't take the renegade interrupt. They're optional dialog/action choices for a reason, you know.

You're reading way too much into it without considering the context.

I think it's just her father being a parent, you know. Generalizing because Liara has her life focused around Shephard.

jeez, chillax

I also believe that she said it just sorta because she sees Liara around Shephard all the time :P

Like I said, if someone comes up with canonical proof, I will change my opinion.  I admit I can't prove that nothing happened, but, what we saw was in real time, there is no evidence of anything other than what we saw going on.

If people want to believe that something happened, that's their own choice, I only object to them stating their opinion as fact.  At least my opinion fits what we see and know about the characters./

She called me Liara's girlfriend, and I never romanced her either. I took it as her being sarcastic.

It seems odd that the player cannot deny the idea that he's Liara's boyfriend when the "locked-in" moment cannot occur before that.

As I've seen in many places, it seems they ran out of time. (A common excuse to highly-anticipated titles that were disasters from other EA acquisitions.)

Is it that much of a stretch that she calls him her bf with the amount of time the spend together, regardless if you romanced Liara or not?
