Anyone tried this out?
The "3d vision" pair I mean not the free "3D discovery" red/bluepair from Nvidia.

TigerDirect has some 120Hz Samsung monitor/Nvidia 200 series graphics card/Nvidia 3D glasses bundles available atm. I bought the one with the EVGA GTX275 card, and the game looks fantastic in 3D.

I just hope it works with Windows XP x64 :/
If not, I'll upgrade to Windows 7 sometime over new year.

Is there any noticeable loss in fps?

I just started running DAO in Nvidia 3D. It is absolutely amazing!! Details appear on screen that I did not even notice prior to 3D. It is like having small...err...action figures on screen and the detail is fantastic. If you have the hardware to pull for it, you will not be disappointed. Personally, I have witnessed no loss in fps but I am running a killer rig. I am running Vista x64 so cannot comment on the XP experience....please post your thoughts if you move to 3D

Yes it's very cool.
Works well with Mass Effect also but rubbish with Jade Empire.
The pointer and cross hair being off is very annoying though, Left4dead 2 doesn't have this as it was built with 3d mind.

You can get an idea of what it would look like in 3d without the 3d nvidia glasses....you'll need a couple things first.....
1) A way to view .JPS files. You can either go to Nvidia's website and see if you can dl the jps viewer
OR
Rename any posted JPS files to JPEG. and view them with your choice of various photoviewers.
2) Open the JPS file (or renamed jpeg). You will see 2 pictures side by side of what looks like almost the exact same image. To get the 3d effect you must relax or focus your eyes so the 2 images "blend." A good tip would be to try and get the "Pause" bar at the top of the pictures to line up. If anyone is familiar with the "Magic Eye" 3d books, this should be easy.
The blending is much better with the glasses as they automatically "blend" the picture for you.
The photos are saved in the album in my profile. If you do not want to see a spoiler than do not view. But they are pretty awesome.../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png

3dcombine is very good, it allows you to create stereoscopic images with depth maps.
