He says "I'm late for the party but the girls are coming home with me"


So assuming that this quote is mentioned during the Harbinger confrontation, Here's the deal :


1. While running towards the conduit, Depending on EMS score, your squadmate dies.(It also appears in game, but without the cutscene. like this :
 )

2. If your EMS is high enough, for some reason Joker shows up.(This may actually add another plot hole, but In can be reasoned enough than the scene we've got)

3. He says that words, "I'm late for the -", and picks up your squadmates.

4. Harbinger then shoots the beam to Shepard, he/she loses consciousness. 

5. While Shepard is in unconsciousness, Joker tries to fight Harbinger with Normandy.

6. As Shepard wakes up, Joker realizes he cannot defeat a reaper with just a ship, so he runs away. That's why Harbinger leaves : to chase Normandy.

7. Some time passes, when Joker tries FTL dodging maneuver, the Crucible fires and catches up Normandy.



It would have actually made sense, providing the reason of Normandy pickup is properly explained.

Well, who knows? I might actually name tons of different outcomes that better than this endings.
