Squad mates: Javik and Kaidan
Build: radius and power synergy charge, half blast, piercing nova.
Cast dark channel with Shep and Javik. Charge. Open power wheel to pause game and have Kaidan cast wide reave. Nova. Stuff dies all over. Dark channel move to next target. Repeat.

Grab your favourite shotgun and bring Liara to set up awesome biotic explosions. It's way more fun.

The only times I ever bothered using Nova was when I got bored in my 3rd Vanguard playthrough and couldn't be arsed to whittle down Banshees/Brutes.

Well, that would be a preference, not a fact.

Vanguard doesn't get double pull, double throw.slramsey86 wrote...
I like Vanguard instead of Adept because I can close in on enemies if need be. I really don't even see the perks of Adept over Vanguard like ME2. I can still set up powerful detonations with Liara's Warp and my shockwave.
But yeah, apart from that it's probably more fun.

Almost never used Nova - too high risk to take a shot from that baddies just outside the blast radius. Loved double pull as my ranged thing to break up the foes and then follow on the with charges,
The charge+nova combo eventually takes away nearly all of the danger of taking hits after a charge because at higher levels charge automatically restores your shields after successful impact.

Vanguard offers the fastest game play, with equal parts boitic power and gunplay available. If u choose to just spam Charge and Nova, and then get bored. Well thats ur own damn fault.

And, of course, the other part of this is that it's not like there aren't repetitive combos and strategies in the other classes. Really, the charge levied against any class someone doesn't like is that it's repetitive and, therefore, boring. But gameplay is repetitive in all classes, your preference is just whichever style you can employ repeatedly without getting bored.

Unless I've got this wrong, charge pluses your barriers, nova discharges them for much damage leaving you functionally w/o any cover. Now I know if you have a fast enough cooldown you can minimze that window of vulnerability before you trun aroundn and launch your next charge but there is a still a gap (or always was for me) that got me killed.

Let's see...
I got executed five times.
I ran into the death laser seven times.
I got shot down three times.
Eventually, I just let the stupid MOFO's get torn down by the Reaper's death laser. Worked like a charm.
