Who wrote the death of Joker's sister?
I did! We intentionally did not connect the dots. We were very interested to see how fast gamers figured it out.

A friend's relative dying in such senseless manner, with him hoping that "everything might still be okay" however... and all of that being told in a subdued, non-flashy manner... that brings a personal touch to the "war is hell" slogan, without rubbing it in the audience's faces.

We are supposed to be allies after all, so how would an ally be offing one of our own?

My guess, and I admit it's just a guess as I don't remember the conversation at all, is that if she were too badly injured to survive then they may have killed her to stop her suffering.

It's worth a watch. Such a beautiful piece of writing. It's probably my favorite background conversation in the entire trilogy.

Joker's sister had broken her leg and was crying out in pain while a Banshee was moving around outside the barn the two of them were hiding in... so the asari killed her to keep their location hidden.
It was a a great conversation to listen to, very sad, especially after I figured out it was poor Joker's sister.

That's really good, I completely missed it, presumably Joker talks about his sister at some point, I can't recall that either, might have missed that too. Anything more like this that I missed.
He for sure does after the Thessia mission. No matter what dialog choice you take, he'll give a variant speech about his sister and father and how he knows there's a war on.

The only part of this side-story that annoys me is that Shepard hears all of this, but never tells Joker that she knows his sister is dead. Or at least makes him aware of this possibility.
Instead, you just have the option of either helping the PTSD soldier off herself by letting her get a gun through the Spectre terminal, or not.
It's a great touch, but I wanted it finished properly. We never hear from that soldier again whether we help or not (beyond the news clip that she killed herself), and we never get to let Joker know for sure that his family was wiped out (grusomely).

Well you also never let Private Talavi know that you probably killed her brother when you raided the Cerberus Lab on Sanctum. Also keep in mind that Shepard may hear all the story, but never connect the dots (I never did until recently).cyrexwingblade wrote...
Not sure if this counts as necroing. I was going to post this question, then realized it was probably already answered (was Joker's sister the girl the PTSD soldier's unfortunate friend?).

Very true, I didn't even know the Tiptree asari killed Joker's sister until I read it in another thread a few mins ago.
