I am having issues authorizing the DLC for dragon age origins. I bought the Dragon Age Pack on amazon for 9.99 this weekend. Link here.
I was very careful to activate both the original Dragon Age Origins game and Dragon Age Origins DLC to the same EA Origins account (my main email address). I have double checked both this website and in game, to ensure that I log in using the same account that I activated both the game and DLC content on, but it says I am unauthorized to play the DA 1 DLC.
Would someone please tell me what is going on?
When I go to the " Your Registered Game Content " section on this site and log in using my account it shows that I have all Dragon Age 1 and 2 DLC, but when I go in game for DA 1 it says unauthorized.
I think EA may have to do something on their end? not sure but the content looks authorized on this website but unauthorized in game - used same account to log into both and activated both original game and DLC on the account.
I know I was rather redundant in places, but want to be extremely clear that I registered the game and DLC to the same Origin account.

I am having this same problem. EA's support troubleshooting recommends running DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML.exe and DAUServiceSetup.exe from the Dragon Age directory. In my case, the first file gets an error trying to write anything, and the second file does not exist. Cannot find any other support for this problem.

That fixed the problem for me, all DLC is now working. However, the patch killed all shortcuts to the game, including my desktop, start menu, and from games folder. Right clicking on the icons doesn't even have a Play option, just open file location. Had to go into the Dragon Age folder to find the launcher .exe file. Everything is working now though. Thanks.

There is a repair option in the config utility that might help that.

Updating to 1.05 fixed the issue. I had to download the patch and apply myself - origin did not do this automatically.
I am now having an issue with Mass Effect 1 - just getting it to run! such a pain. Windows says the program stops working whenever I hit the "play" button on the startup screen. I just downloaded it from Amazon for 5.99 today. I probably should have activated through steam, but I chose not to.
Any one had issues with Mass Effect 1 failing to start up at all? Saying the program stops working whenever I get to the configuration screen (hit play - it goes to configuration utility and then error is thrown saying it has stopped working).
I tried running as administrator both the mass effect config utility and the masseffectlauncher.exe.

I've just spent a couple hours troubleshooting this myself. I cannot understand why there are still issues with the game months/years later.
I previously had issues with games & DLC being split between two accounts (this was when EA first incorporated the EA login with the Bioware one) and now again after repurchasing DA for a second time in the Ultimate pack where the DLC is installed, but not authorized.
Playing a game should not involve having to troubleshoot and fix known issues manually months later. I want to relax, not feel like I'm at work.

You are asking about ME-1 in the DAO forum, so you needed to move this, and when you do, you needed to follow Chris Priestly's guide to making a problem report (it looks as if I wrote it, but I was quoting Chris at the time).Nokhans wrote...

P. S. You had already posted there before I wrote my comment, above.

Thanks, I'll remember to check the readme's first next time.
It's just annoying as I'm so used to downloading a game from Steam and installing it and it works, but today I had to figure out I needed to manually install and start an obscure Dragon Age Windows service and on top of that manually update the game with a patch - I thought Origin is supposed to do that for you ...
Anyway all is good now for this issue - now to still sort out my problem with some content associated with another account.
