 Seriously, Priestly is a moderator and thus I feel it is normal he doesn't take partake in conversation and simply moderates. Stanley Woo, although not a designated moderator, likes to do the same which is fine.

But for actual DISCUSSION, the only people who come in here are the Dragon Age devs? Why? David Gaider posts all the time down in DA2 forums, maybe because he wants to avoid DA3 being another catastrophe, but also because he's always done so. I know in the multiplayer forums we have Brian Johnson & others posting about bugs and keeping us updated on balance fixes etc which is awesome, but we need some ME developer discussion in here.

Even if they don't talk about the ending with us (even though they should.), there's plenty of lore questions that go around and never get answered. I don't get how they can claim they're listening, a person usually has to be a part of a conversation to be listening, otherwise it's just eavesdropping. 

Now people might say it's because this whole forum is a cesspool of insults, whining, and ending discussion galore. Yeah, but it's pretty obvious that it WOULDN'T be if we didn't have so many questions about it. Questions that could be answered via a forum post(see Patrick Weekes Q&A thread).

(And yes I know that when bioware people come on the forums they're doing it on their own time, but it doesn't take that long and if they are as passionate about their career as they claim then I feel there should be more active discussion).

And frankly, it's getting boring seeing the same two sides 'speculating' the same two opinions.

p.s jessica merezan doesn't count, I appreciate her answering questions but she still isn't a dev.

mainly its to minimize damage control i would imagine.

You dont want your devs overstepping things and saying things they cant live up too.

I mean have you seen the posts about the "Devs lying to us"? Imagine that but with much more vitriol spewed at the devs because they're actually getting into the arguments.

As it is they'll post time to time, but the big time devs are going to waste the time "hopefully" trolling the forums as it would serve them no purpose really. I mean they probably DO skim the forums and read the posts but they wont make any statements, etc etc

An inevitable consequence of success. You get more money, bigger ego, you lose sight of why made you great in the first place. The gap between you and your fans grows. Happens in all aspects of life.

Also, I'm sure EA has them all on strict contracts that state, no fraternization with the plebs.

I think its a GOOD thing that dont banter too much here on the forums. Last thing we want is devs playing favorites right?

I dont think all the devs have bigger egos, and get tons of money and have lost sight.

But its the same reason at my job I'm not supposed to "fraternize" with the customers outside of the job at hand. You run the risk of overstepping your bounds and upsetting or alienating a customer by doing so.

They're just playing it safe. Especially considering things are taken out of bounds pretty quickly here on the BSN.

To be fair to them, if they do try to engage with the fanbase they get misinterpreted (intentionally sometimes) and shouted at by a small number of people. So I understand if they choose to opt out of forum participation. It's nice when they do, but they have to have the patience of a saint to debate with some people on here.

Why should they? Every little thing they say and do is ripped apart by butthurt people on the forums. They get threats on Twitter, they're harassed and treated like crap... why the hell SHOULD they talk to you?

Seriously. I'm sure they'd rather slam their dicks in a door than come here and deal with all the drama queens here.

Because they're busy talking to people outside of the forums about how they didn't get a say in the ending and that Hudson highjacked it for his own personal pony.  Read the link in this post for some "OH SON" information.

we had a whole thread (more than 1) about what they said that wasn't true

except if they answered questions people wouldn't be so mad. We just saw it with that Patrick Weekes interview, nobody's raging in that thread. There's disappointment sure, but it's disappointment in the truth that ME3 had resource limitations that kept it from greatness, nobody's mad at Bioware Devs for that they're mad at EA.

If they're harassed and treated like crap there's obviously a reason for it. I don't recall ME dev discussion on any of the 3 ME boards ever being very active, especially in comparison to DA, this isn't new.
And I don't believe EA/Bioware doesn't let them talk with us, again David Gaider posts quite a bit down there. He's the lead writer, if Mac Walters came down here and simply answered questions that'd pacify this place a whole lot. Devs are getting their pre-release quotes misinterpreted because it was pre-release talk, meant to be vague. Patrick Weekes was slightly misinterpreted in that Q&A but it was rectified.
