Because they're busy talking to people outside of the forums about how they didn't get a say in the ending and that Hudson highjacked it for his own personal pony.  Read the link in this post for some "OH SON" information.

maybe, but that's been denied by both Bioware and Patrick himself. Sure they might be denying it to avoid flak, but that article isn't a fact until Patrick comes out and says "that was me!"

Because they only say they're listening to shut us up. In reality, the only opinions they care about are their own and are afraid that other people might actually have a negative opinion of them. They also are afraid of being called out because they know damn well that we're in the right and we know every single lie they fed us and that the ending went through absolutely no filters or editing because Hudson and Walters wrote it and they both liked it.

They don't want to hear the truth: that Hudson and Walters are incompetent.

That's the truth there.

Maybe they don't do it now because the heat is a little too much.

Maybe they don't do it now because it is futile (as it is).

Maybe they don't do it now because 95% of people here pretend to speak of things they know almost nothing about as if they are the best experts in the world.

In the DA2 forums at beginning devs replied very sparsely for the same exact reasons. Then, when the heat subsided, trolls did go away, people that remained were those that could really help somewhat, only then they began engaging actively on the discussion.

Do you find that illogical?

Maybe it's because the community twists every word they say and mock and assume and take things out of context.

Not really, they established a wonderful universe and gaming IP, they just botched the ending which is big sure, but it's a mistake not a sign of incompetence. Mistakes can be fixed, and communication is the first step to that. If Casey Hudson can get his ideas for the ending inspired by a 7 year old german/russian kid's** letter then his most avid fans letters should do more than inspire.

** final hours of ME app, don't fully remember which part.

David Gaider posts all the time down in DA2 forums, maybe because he wants to avoid DA3 being another catastrophe.

Mr. Gaider has always participated in the forums since Baldur's Gate 2, and as much as I appreciate any post made by the writers I always suspect they're a little crazy for doing so considering how ugly some of the fans can get. So I don't blame any of the devs who don't participate in the forums.

ME devs have never been very hands on. I can't even recall the last time Casey Hudson posted on the forum.

How are people mocking and twisting their words? There are no words, people are mocking their cowardice and their lack of interaction with us. They're hiding behind vague PR twitters/blog feeds but haven't answered a single solid question about anything in the past month.

Oh, yes, forgot to add this to my list, thank you.

The twisting of words or making words mean what you want them to mean no matter what, pure cheap genius..

Established it then destroyed it. Hudson and Walters did the ending themselves without any input from the rest of the team.
I just hope that they can actually do as they have been asked and forget about the kid from berlin, and make a worthy ending.

and Mr Gaider is awesome for that, the guy knows his DA lore by heart because he wrote the damn thing and he knows what he's doing with it. Fans get ugly because people are ugly, their whole JOB revolves around pleasing fans which means talking with them to know what they want. If they can't do that then they shouldn't be in this industry.

It would help if they didn't just say something and just run off and hide. They want people to not take it out of context, then they need to sit down and actively discuss what they said to us with us. What they do is they say one thing and then disappear, so they have no right to assume that everything they said is cristal clear because half the time it is not.

Even if alot of signs point towards that, it's still not established as fact and thus it's not fair to say that about them. We'll know with the extended cut (which should feature team input this time...I hope) if the writers decide to clash with Casey & Mac over this ending or not.

True, ME devs have always been less talkative than DA ones, but this doesn't mean that they didn't listen. In fact you can see that they did in the many changes adopted in ME3 (one being those of Adepts).

However they sometimes jumped in some discussin to clarify things or to debate a little. Now they are totally absent, and, sincerly, I would do the same given the background here.

Apart that it was not in my original list, people always do this. The most funny one is that of the guy that pretends to be a co-author just because they said (as a manner of speak) that fans are almost co-authors now (or something like that). If this is not twisting words (or better, assuming a thing literally when it's obviously not) I don't know what it is. I would like to ask that guy if he gets some profit from this presumed "co-autorship".

There are many other examples, so many in fact that it would take a day to quote them all.

Maybe for the motives I already explained. Do you want me to say them again?

I will do so only for the most important: "Maybe they don't do it now because 95% of people here pretend to speak of things they know almost nothing about as if they are the best experts in the world."

You do realize that a few of the "nasty ass" replies you "ta-daa"-ed were hardly nasty, right?

Also, you may want to use proper grammar and spelling if you wish for anyone to take you even remotely seriously.

What exactly would they say? Nearly everything game related would have to be cleared through channels.

Besides, I have seen how many in this community beat down and belittle even fans who disagree with their opinions. I can't imagine any Dev would want to subject themselves willingly to the "open season" posting in here would be.

What? I'm not whining. This is all just stone cold fact. Go ahead and tell me nothing released about the ending isn't purposelly vague, they're doing that to give themselves wiggle room which I understand, but if these questions were answered before hand (as in, the game) this wiggle room wouldn't even be necessary.

He is saying that BioWare, as a company dependant on customers and EA, has to please their fanbase and their customers. That is not an expression of entitlement, that is an expression of fact.

I can't tell if you're trolling or don't realize this is a video game forum, do people buy a game they don't want? Of course not. Why did they make 3 mass effects? To keep people coming back to something they love (and to make money yes yes whatever). How do you figure out what people love? You find out by asking them.

Not very difficult.

As artists they should be prepared to face criticism no matter how poorly written. If they can't do that then their claim to artistic integrity (while already garbage IMO) is moot. Art isn't JUST shaped by the person who makes it, everyone wants feedback.

It's often the meanest most disgusting posts that have nothing relevant or substantial in them, as adults I think they are very well able to filter that out and move on to the constructive ones.

Then they don't answer to those people, again just because they're the loudest on here doesn't mean they deserve the reply. In any case, they shouldn't be SAYING we are the co-authors if they don't want us to take it literally, in fact the same thing applies with the ending if it turns out to not be something to take at face value. Some people read what's in front of them and don't feel like looking beyond that, that's just the way some people work.

I know they've adopted a lot of complaints I read about in ME2/ME1 forums, and I never claimed they weren't listening, but some, like me, are genuinely interested in their replies/ points of view/takes on certain matters.

They are not ripped apart there falsifications/facts are corrected/proved, devs just don't like to be shown up.
