Aside from the endings, there are plenty of things to nitpick about the game, but one issue in particular really seems to show what direction Bioware is going to continue to take as a developer. It's absolutely infuriating to me (even as I take a step back and remind myself how dumb it is to be so pissed off about a video game).
Somewhere along the line, for some reason I cannot comprehend, Bioware made the decision to spend their face-modeling money on Diana Allers, rather than giving Tali (a core character in the series) the face reveal she deserved.
I had no idea who Jessica Chobot was before Mass Effect 3. If the intent of her cameo was to make me a fan of hers, it actually had the opposite effect. I'm now forever going to associate her name with the failings of ME3.
Is she really that popular, that Bioware thought putting her in the game would boost sales? Was putting Chobot in the game such a draw, that it was worth it to relegate Tali to a stock photoshop, and kill off Emily Wong on Twitter?
As a design decision, it feels so dysfunctional and out of touch with what fans expect. The thing is, I don't see how having Chobot/Allers in the game was beneficial to EA/Bioware in any way. Whoever forces these stupid marketing gimmicks on Bioware at the cost of game integrity needs to be fired, because they don't even work.
Yes.

Too bad, the idea of the reporter was actually pretty good. Can't blame the woman for that though, who wouldn't have agreed to be part of a game series you like? Not her fault that she looks good and is in the right industry to get much attention because of that.

Just run in when she's in the middle of a story and interrupt her. She'll say "Commander." And then once you've ruined her take, you can leave again...

So it's a sexist joke. I can be uncomfortable about. I also get uncomfortable about other kind of jokes.
You make a joke, I get to respond to it. And this one made me uncomfortable because I think it hints at something very, very ugly about the society you and I both most likely share.
I agree about the society thing. His first response was about her looks and almost anger at her being good looking, surely she must've blew someone to get into that position there's no way she worked her way there.
Wait wait ... we need to throttle back on this. Tell me how Jessica Chobot worked her way into an acting job with -zero- acting experience or training. There are real actors and actresses working crap jobs hoping to actually get a tiny break who put in the time and effort and this job was dropped into her lap. Disagree with what he said, but lets not get carried away here. If she didn't know people at Bioware/EA she wouldn't be in the game.

Allers initially gives you five war assets. Any additional points are from her news stories and the two personal interviews with Shepard.FitScotGaymer wrote...

Really?
I was sure that I got more War Assets for al-Jilani than I did for Allers...
I thought she was only worth 5 war assets. o_o
Yeh I was certain she was only worth 5...
Shoulda been Emily Wong.. They could have diversofied instead of adding another white person. Please.

Okay, next time I see a picture of a woman giving a work colleague a lapdance, sitting pantsless on a toilet and seductively licking objects, I will not jokingly talk about what kind of person she is.
What a first.

The level of maturity here is astounding.
I never said I was mature.
However, I'm not the one being upset that a sexist comment I made was not accepted happily by someone in my forum peer group. That was you. You don't want to get picked out on something, don't say it. If you do say it, be prepared to get picked out for it.

Of course, if this was the thinking it was a poor idea, since those fans are the ones that are going to care the most, and everyone else is on the internet whether they have a Tali romance character or not.

This is just one of the many reasons why I call bull**** on "artistic integrity". Mass Effect has always been commercial art at best, and Chobot was given the job because she works for IGN. It's so transparent it's pathetic.

There is PLENTY of ammunition against her and/or her implementation in Mass Effect, without going overboard and sexist like this.

I've never seen her in a movie, but I saw her when she was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart doing skits. She would have been light years ahead of Chobot in the acting category.

Aside from any of this Chobot nonsese; the notion that there was some sort of face modeling budget that prevented a full Tali reveal seems unlikely to me. I just assumed they decided against a full Quarian reveal but decided to include a little fan service for what their telemetry no doubt shows is the small percentage of players who would even have a chance at seeing it.
Of course, if this was the thinking it was a poor idea, since those fans are the ones that are going to care the most, and everyone else is on the internet whether they have a Tali romance character or not.
Honestly: My assumption is that they were going to do a full face reveal for tali, but it took to long to get a concept approved and the writers and artists went back and forth on how she should look.....and eventually when they finally got together and went online to find a base image to do a mockup of it was too late to allocate anymore resources because it was time to polish existing art.
Instead, they just took that 15 minute mockup and shoved it into the game somewhere. That's defiantely speculation on top of what we know happend...but it's how I figure it went down.

Olivia Munn is too smart to take an offer like this.
She's fully in touch with her place in her industry and the public's perception of her.
Probably why you're less likely to see her make PR mishaps like Chobot's.
I am not being facetious at all here either.

You quoted me. I assumed you were talking about me. You'll have to be more clear next time.
So this is what I've seen:
You: Made an off color joke.
Me: Pointed out.
Others: Pointed out.
You: Attempt to support self. Post pictures of what you feel should warrent sexist language. Mention you are not the only one to say this. Still not getting the response you want.
You: Attempt to mock those calling you out. Discredit them. Still not getting the response you want.
You: Now acting sullen. Pulling back. Mentioning how emotionally not invested you are.
Sorry, mate, it looks bad. Hopefully next time more people will be on your side on this and it'll be my sort on the defensive.
