That said, what do you think are the worst/weakest guns for each class of weapon?

SMG: Locust. It looks good to begin with, until your realise its DPS is equivalent to potato gun.
Shotgun: Katana. Basically meh and very heavy for a weapon that fires meh.
Assault Rifle: Argus. Weighs about as much as a tank and will guarantee your cooldown will be measured in years.
Sniper Rifle: Mantis. Slow at basically everything.
Keep in mind that the majority of the weapons in ME3 are fairly good, so the worst of the bunch are mainly there in terms of weight.

I would subsitiute the Mantis for the Incisor. On insantiy, the manits still gets one-shot one-kills on unshielded enemies. The Incisor has horrilbe ammo consumption and awful recoil. the rest of the list is good.JaegerBane wrote...
Pistol: Predator. It doesn't weigh much so it won't hammer your cooldown, but it basically doesn't do anything that any other pistol couldn't do better.

all the SMGs are hit or miss. Locust is a long range SMG and all intends and purposes i dont see the reason for it unless you will be shooting 100 yards away >_>
There are no bad assault rifles.
The only pistol that has a troublesome learning curve is the talon because you cant accurately shoot anything farther than 20 feet but it's a shotgun pistol.
The crusader is a sniper shotgun which makes me smile.

Argus - extremely heavy and very slow fire rate
Incisor - dps is lacking
katana - no discernable strength, simply mediocre
locust - like trying to flick the enemy into submission

Fair enough. I couldn't stand it in ME2 so I didn't even bother with it in ME3.

This post makes me smile.
Seriously, the whole reason I began to look into modding out the weight mechanic was so my Adept could wield this shotty while still being able to use his powers. This shotty might as well have been custom-designed to my specifications... heavy punch, check.... wide effective range, check.... awesome model with N7 logo, check....

SMG: Locust. Its an accurate pea shooter.
Shotgun: Scimitar. Sure it shoots fast, but its so damn weak.
Assault Rifle: Argus. Heavy for really no reason.
Sniper Rifle: Incisor. Just take an assault rifle.

Locust was one of my favorites in ME2. I don't see why they nerfed it to uselessness in ME3, since you don't pick up till late game anyways.
Locus is awful now, basically I'd be better of hitting people with it than firing it. Speaking of that,....the Geth Pulse rifle is flipping useless unless you are killing tissue paper. I hate the M29 as well - why snipe something if you need 20 shots to kill it? None of the shotguns seem that awful.

OK, if you use James and evolve one power in one way then yeah, it is good. Since I don't like taking the shaved ape with me... I'll stand with the it sucks line.

SMG: All of them utterly useless
Assault Riffle: Argus, a shotgun wanna be with a fraction of a shotgun's killing power and the accuracy of an unaimed sniper riffle
Heavy Pistol: The Arc Pistol. About as "useful" as a SMG.
Sniper Riffle: No data available... .. .

Yeah, that is more to do with how overpowered explosive incendiary ammo is. It turns any full auto weapon into a death machine. The problem is, you can't nerf it, because it is pretty much the only thing keeping the Soldier's damage output anywhere near the Vanguard, Infiltrator, and Adept. It really should be nerfed, but only if Adrenaline Rush and the other ammo abilities get buffed.
The single worst weapon is probably the Incisor or the Locust. Both utterly useless.

Yea, why was the Argus touted as an upgraded Mattock? When I finally got my hand on a Mattock, it was like the Video Game God's shone light from the Heavens on me. What a joke the Argus is.

Yeah, I hate the Argus. The Valkyrie (the other DLC assault rifle) is at least decent, it's just not worth the extra wait compared to the Vindicator. I just can't find a reason to use the Argus.

Shotgun: N7 Crusader, basically a silly hybrid of oversize heavy pistol and nerf Sabre. Weakness of both and strength of none.
The biggest problem with the Crusader is that, like virtually all shotguns, is far too heavy for what it is. In terms of its performance and nature, there's nothing really wrong with it. It just isn't worth the weight of two other weapons.
SMG: All of them utterly useless
It isn't that simple. Anyone who honestly thinks that every SMG is utterly useless under any and all scenarios simply isn't using them correctly. They're hardly great and there are some right stinkers in there, but you haven't looked at them hard enough if you honestly believe this.
