IMO, Alistair is great shield and sword guy, full Templar/Champion or Templar/Beserker, he kicks ass. I skipped the whole "Shield Wall" line and concentrated on the above with him. Now, as a Tank, SHALE is the WOMAN to get the job done.

On my second playthrough I decided to romance both Lelianna and Morrigan. It took alot of f9s and timing conversations and gifts. At one point I had to dump Morrigan to keep Lelianna but with the right conversation and gift I got both back to 100 love and things have been going great. UNTIL I decided to take alistair on a few runs hoping to trigger his personal quest (+75 approval and still no quest for alistair). Now what does this douche bag do? Not much, completely crappy PC. The only thing he added to my group was his incessant chatter to Lelianne about how im 2 timing her and I am sleeping with Morrigan. After about his 5th conversation with Lelianne about how im sleeping with Morrigan she says, It doesnt matter, I am done with him anyway. So where is the guy code with this feminine little ****? I can see why so many girls seem to like him, he is just like they are. Just a little girl wearing a man's armor.
PS He fights worse than any of the girls.
Your angry because you were two timing in an RPG and got caught? Hmm, well you probably slept with one of them right there in the campsite and well, the campsite isn't very big so everyone there at your campsite probably heard you getting it on. To bad Morrigan didn't turn you into a little frog or something. That would of been funny. ;p
You also realize that you just said you fail since Alistair is a companion and created the way you make him? My Alastair is kind of flawless by design.

That's hilarious, but as others have said, if you spec him right from the beginning and equip him correctly, he's a tanking beast. I have him set up as a Templar/Champion in my mage run, and by stacking spell resist items, I can AOE like crazy and not worry about him at all.Haha, don't worry about us, I've come to terms with the fact that I'm an Alistair fangirl.I actually feel kinda bad for the straight girls that like the romance RP thing for games.
Lets face it they got screwed in there options they either get a whiny idiot of a fool or a ****ot elf with a bad accent and more STDs than a 2 dollar hooker.I think most of the ladies I've heard from love Alistair, and many have no problem with Zevran either. They're obviously very different but I think they're both great.
I don't think they're that different they both tell lame jokes and are somewhat incompetent. The only difference is that Zevran is a bit perverted and likes men. Honestly Alistair couldn't lead his way out of a paper bag or make a dission to save his live where Zevran would just have sex with it.
I get the attraction girls might of had for Haer'Dalis or Bishop but tweedle dumb and dumber I just don't get it. Then again I'm not a women or gay so maybe I'm missing something but I doubt it.

He simply cares too much for his friends to let you hurt them for the sake of some arbitrary guy code. Behind all this silverite and snark, he is a really nice guy, which doesn't mesh well with two-timing, sneaky scoundrels.

The possibility's are endless sorry ladies.
What about gay guys? We're just stuck with the disease infested pansy elf. Atleast the girls get to choose between bad and bad

Yeah I'll admit you guys got it worse.... They should at least put in the option that you could rape Alistair or get Sten to do it LOL. That would of been hilarious he probably wouldn't fight it that much anyway.

So, you hoard all available women for yourself and then get bitter and whiny and cry tears on the forums when another guy decides to shake things up so he can get some action too? Tsk.althor123 wrote...

Alistair's the BEST character in the game. He's sweet, funny, vulnerable, snarky, but also tough and strong when he has to be. I also find him to be more than competent at tanking and bashing things into oblivion, unless you come up against multiple mages. But everyone dies if you come up against multiple mages, so no big there. Also he's handsome. Doesn't hurt.
Zevran is creeeepy, I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Who knows what he's done or where he's been sticking his schlong? Not to mention he might knife you during intercourse. Bad news all around.

Alistair is like child in a mans body and they want him king!
And how would this make him different than many another king?
(Although I don't agree with your assessment of him, but then I'm a fangirl!)

As for him being a tank? Yeah, I never cared for him much in that roll. Of course, that could be because I did not particularly like him as a character. Lawful stupid and I just don't get along.

You know, you could actually see his marrying Anora and bedding Morrigan as tanking if you're playing a male human noble.tanglefoot79 wrote...
Alistair's conservative idea's of romance aside, if you max out his sword and shield talents early and put him in some decent armor he makes a fine tank. He tanked all of my first play through and, if I can convince him to both marry Anora and sleep with Morrigan he'll do the same for this one.
On marrying Anora
Alistair: Why would you do that!? Why can't you just marry her and become Prince-consort?
PC: Dude, I want to travel.
Alistair: *I* want to travel.
PC: (Persuade) But you're the Tank, Alistair! It's your job to take one for the team.
On bedding Morrigan
Alistair: If it's that important why don't you do it?
PC: Dude, seriously, she mentioned blood magic. It sounds dangerous.
Alistair: Then why make me do it? Oh, Maker's droppings, you're going to pull the Tank card again aren't you?
PC: *smiles*
Alistair: I should never have accepted Duncan's shield.

I didn't think he was any of those things... The guy follows you around like a lost puppy and is just as dumb. Granted he's the obvious choice next to Zevran but he's still an incompetent fool.
Like I said I get the attraction to Bishop who's you're typical bad boy or Haer'Dalis who although is a man hore is at least charming and seductive.
But mh whatever.
