Dude, you shouldn't have two timed in the first place. Alistair was right in ratting you out. It's either you tell them, or he tells them. Looks like he took the initiative.

No offense but... VAGINA ALERT VAGINA ALERT!!!

Yes, Alistair is a poosie, he admits as much. I love his little quip after you slaughter Connor. I wanted him to attack me so bad during that scene so I could gut that little wimp and leave him for the crows.

Alistair is no hero.

Pardon me? That is offensive. There are women out there who are able to lie, cheat, and play the field as well as any man.

Only thing I have against Alistair is that he always seems pop up in the heat of battle just when I'm about to "finish" my opponent only steal my "fatality", damn royal bastard.

As far as I can tell, Alistair seems to be more of an idealized romantic male figure of the "sensitive" variety more than he is some kind of moral compass. He talks, commiserates, and tells on you like a freaking woman. If he really disapproves of my Hero's two timing, I would like for him to tell it to my face and show me how much better it is to be faithful using the point of his blade, if necessary!

He was enough of a gentleman to not steal kills from my female human noble rogue...well, mostly. I think he got one or two here & there.

Oddly enough, he stole my Flemeth kill when I played my first female. Rose, the ever lovable woman decided to embarass him with a victory kiss. It seemed appropriate at the time considering who I based her off of. I wasn't even mad, to be honest.

However, in other playthroughs, he always manages to steal my dragon kills. Rose did get the Archdemon kill and looked rather fetching while she did so.

I don't think Alistair sucks. He's just a character very prone to breakdown, in my opinion, and uses humor and whining to cover it up. He grew up with everyone thinking of him as the 'royal bastard' and kind of worthless. He really just needed someone to kind of take charge.

Personally this is why I didn't really like his romance as much, your character had to usually be very foward to get Alistair to take a hint, and then from that point he would pretty much do anything you asked. I guess a lot of girls liked this because they were in control and he was gentlemanly, but imo he was a little TOO whipped.

Alistair's conservative idea's of romance aside, if you max out his sword and shield talents early and put him in some decent armor he makes a fine tank. He tanked all of my first play through and, if I can convince him to both marry Anora and sleep with Morrigan he'll do the same for this one.

You know, you could actually see his marrying Anora and bedding Morrigan as tanking if you're playing a male human noble.

:D

On marrying Anora

Alistair: Why would you do that!? Why can't you just marry her and become Prince-consort?
PC: Dude, I want to travel.
Alistair: *I* want to travel.
PC: (Persuade) But you're the Tank, Alistair! It's your job to take one for the team.

On bedding Morrigan

Alistair: If it's that important why don't you do it?
PC: Dude, seriously, she mentioned blood magic. It sounds dangerous.
Alistair: Then why make me do it? Oh, Maker's droppings, you're going to pull the Tank card again aren't you?
PC: *smiles*
Alistair: I should never have accepted Duncan's shield.

Priceless!  These images will be running through my head now when I play these two scenes Posted Image

Those lines are funnier than almost anything that's actually in the game - particularly for Alistair.

I like the shield and two hander combo in my parties. Have the shield guy using threaten and taunt but when he gets to 25% health turns them off and let the two handed guy turn his on. This way I can control agro a little better and healing is not a chore.
