Yeah, that scene was awful, but so what? Buzz Aldrin has been on the goddamned moon. He's one of the reasons there's a Mass Effect series to begin with. Let him have some fun. It's far from the worst thing in the game.

(Plus, the writing is as much to blame. When you're writing for a non-actor, you compensate so that they can sound natural instead of giving them dialog that would be challenging for an accomplished actor to say passably.)

You know, I'd like to say that it was nice to have Buzz Aldrin appear and that he "didn't do that bad" but I would be saying that only because I pity him for what must be a very embarrassing moment in his career, appearing in a worthless role and giving a terrible performance.

You pity buzz aldrin? Oh thats rich...

Im sure a man who has done more with his life then you ever will does not care what you have to say about him.

I feel it was sickening to hear a old man say that to a child.
Whether or not the child will get to space or not I feel he will get sexually abused before then and have a troubled life ahead of him.

What the hell is wrong with you? An old person can't call a kid "my sweet" without being perverted?

Holy double double sh*t batman why don't you put this nice white sweater on and some nice people will escort you to a wonderful place.

HE'S BEEN TO THE ****ING MOON. A meh performance in the post credits scene of a video game isn't going to tarnish his career.

He worked so hard to provide his talents to Mass Effect 3 but ended up failing so badly that he may go down as perhaps the worst voice actor in video game history surpassing even the voice acting in the original Resident Evil in it's awfulness.  Now everybody is being mean to him, especially over the part where he says "my sweet" and shredding him apart.

Please guys!  He's an old man and an American hero.  How can you say such mean things about him.  It's not his fault that he's talentless as a voice actor and that Bioware thought it would be neat to have a real astronaut provide a worthless role in a pointless post-credits epilogue scene that added absolutely nothing to the game and made him sound like a pedophile with the "my sweet" line.

Yeah, he's been getting a lot of hate. For what it's worth, I thought it was cool that they brought him on as a cameo. I still think Diana Allers sounded MUCH worse. It's just a shame they put him in such a crap excuse for an epilogue. But, no, I don't blame him for it. He's awesome.

I didn't hate him. I hated the writing of the scene. And besides, after having to cringe every time I heard Allers voice, Buzz isn't near the worst VA in this game.

I can honestly say that the OP has managed to capture something with his words that exactly no one was thinking about. I don't think anyone had a problem with Buzz Aldrin.

I think it was an awesome easter egg. A grandfather telling his grandson about Shepard...I don't think he failed. Opinion does not equate fact

No, I too have seen a lot of people write really vicious stuff on the forums, most of it immediately after the game's release when people were the most angry about the endings. Maybe a lot of that rage got focused unfairly on Buzz Aldrin by a minority of people who didn't like how the game concluded, but if you look back at some of the posts, this is defense is definitely based in truth.

Buzz Aldrin would have been the cherry on top if the ending had been actually good.

Nothing wrong with his performance to me.

Wow and I thought I had a fudged up mind you have officially taken the cake sir. Although I will say I would expect someone to say that to their grand daughter before their grandson I see nothing wrong with it. Anyway I feel I need to shower now.

Who has "hated" on Aldrin? His voice acting wasn't good but it wasn't that bad; it certainly wasn't the worst thing in the game, and if any voice actor is getting hate it's Robo-Chobo.

In fact Buzz Aldrin voicing the old man was one of like 2 things I actually really liked about the entire last hour of the game. I thought it was great.

I feel sorry for Neil Armstrong.

Buzz gets to be the model for a Toy Story character.

Buzz gets a cameo appearance on Dark of the Moon.

Buzz gets a cameo appearance in Mass Effect 3.

What does Neil get? Nuttin! :P

I guess it's because everyone feels sorry for Buzz being only the second man on the moon.

Also I don't blame Buzz. He did a good job in my opinion, but sadly someone wrote him horrible, HORRIBLE lines.

He might as well have used the old Monty Python Gag: "This is my only line!"

Neil is reclusive. The decision to not milk his fame is entirely his own. He rarely even gives interviews.

Buzz Aldrin once punched a man in the face for telling him that the moon landing was faked. He is awesome and shares none of the blame that Bioware can shoulder themselves.
